I sit in the numbness

Waiting for my hearing to return

Aging was never as leisurely as they claimed

And this deterioration slows me evermore

I thirst for healing

Craving water

To soak into the cracks of my skin, and mold me into something I can recognize

But not change what I have become

I would beg if I could, like I once did

On my knees

But they are too weak now

A plant forgotten

Fruit that shrivels in the sun

Plastic left to fade

A forecast for my foreboding

Some find discomfort in dark clouds

For they fear what a storm may bring

But I see them as opportunistic

A stop to the daylight cycle

To cover my sun

And give me a moment to count the drops

YALL I HAVE AN IDEA!!!!!!!

Ok so I guess someone decided to go nudge the author and ask them about it and because I was still trying to decide on the solution I had an idea

what if we call the main brackets the chapters, right, but we have little side things called the authors notes?? (Because I’m an ao3 user axddfvge that’s of course what I think.)

these ‘authors notes’ will be surprise events that occur sporadically, and are only 24 hour votes. These can include fics that didnt make it into the main bracket or had left the bracket, along with ones still in the bracket!!

these won’t count against anyone for anything, but just might add a bit more fun and random shenanigans to the polls.

whenever someone “looses”, that feels mean to just kick them out, so I still want to be able to let them participate! Idk this just sounded like a fun idea, what do you guys think?

I’m just thinking this might be some jolly good randomness (as long as the surprise competitors don’t get stressed afgscgbw that’s not what I’m trying to do)
