Crazy ass Timbart Bart centered angst post
After realising that ever since Young Justice broke up Tim and Kon do not come to him to vent or discuss important things in their lives Bart mentally launched "Operation Get Taken Seriously". After that every in person interaction became the chance for a performance. Using his superspeed Bart made it seem like he was intensely focused like never before. Seemingly keeping perfect eye contact and not fidgeting or appearing to lose focus.
This was offputting to Kon who viewed Bart as the low stakes chill friend he could really goof off with. He really felt like Bart was someone he did not have to "straighten out" or "act right" with.
This was suprising to Tim. He thought to himself "Bart has really changed- grown up, really". Only slightly wary of the sudden change but ultimately feeling this was a really good for Bart.
Kon brings up feeling worried about Bart but Tim just dismisses him saying "You're just hung up on nobody putting fries in their mouth and pretending to be a Walrus with you anymore. Getting spit soaked potato mush in their gums is a feeling nobody wants to suffer"
It all culminates in a moment where Tim is standing on a concrete rooftop in the cold midnight of Gotham venting to Bart about an arguement with Bernard about not having enough quality time together that got too heated.
"It was weird I could feel myself escalating it like I couldn't stop and then B seemed to almost cycle through feeling guilty for arguing and then angry again"
Tim looks out at the gotham skyline speckled with lights. Overwhelming.
"I don't know it's crazy I couldn't stop yelling."
"I don't think it's crazy."
Tim looks back at Bart, his eyes are a deep amber in the night. He look sincere, like not a thing could be more important than hearing Tim right now.
"I think you both care alot about eachother," Bart spoke carefully, almost quiet "I think you feel so much, it's not crazy at all."
He was looking up at Tim, wide eyed, stray hairs off his middle part splayed over his face, nervous, Bart was nervous to say the right thing to him.
Tim leaned closer. Bart had chewed part of his lip raw. Still his lips felt smooth.
Tim fixed his hair. "I- I don't know why I- I thought. You were- I'm sorry." "I love him."
"It's okay, you didn't mean to."
"I just got caught up in- It was a mistake."
