hiii can i request 71 with atsumu please? :>
“you don’t get to pick and choose. you’re stuck with me.” + miya atsumu
there are countless students that attend inarizaki high but you’re sure if you trip in the middle of the courtyard, your name won’t make it to the ears of each and every one of them. but miya atsumu, on the other hand, can do anything as easy as breathing and his name will travel along any student like some sort of folktale.
you don’t like atsumu. you don’t hate him but you don’t look at him with hearts in your eyes, unlike some friends of yours who always berate you when you show your dislike for him in the form of scoffs and eye rolls.
so god forbid, you close your eyes, as four more names, including yours and miya’s, are the only ones that aren’t called yet. and you don’t want to open your eyes the moment two of your classmates’ last names are called, and it’s you and miya that’s left.
you’re lab partners for the rest of the year. great!
and atsumu is at your desk the second your teacher dismisses class five minutes early for lunch, his signature smirk on his face as he looms over you.
you give him a smile. you know, that one from the mother dragon with blonde hair? that. his smirk widens as you push past him, heading toward one of the many tables in the courtyard because the cafeteria will be packed and noisy and you don’t like that.
atsumu follows you. he sits down across the stone bench from you and rests his chin on his palm as he says, “since we’ll be partners for the rest of the year, care to tell me about yourself?”
you drop your bento on the table, leaning on the edge with your forearm, scrunching your nose. “i’m y/n and i am not very fond of you.”
“ah,” he leans back and cross his arms. you try to ignore the muscles that seem to be taunting you. “that is very unfortunate but you don’t get to pick and choose, babe. you’re stuck with me.”
you nod sullenly, picking your chopsticks up but before you can even think about eating one of the eight sushis laying beautifully on the container, atsumu’s fingers are quick to dart in and steal one, tilting his head back a little as he drops the food in his mouth. the boy has the audacity to smile at you as his cheeks puff, and you grimace at his little show of wiping his fingers at the hem of his vest’s sleeve.
“you’re disgusting,” you comment and you watch him steal a slice of apple as he munches on it.
“can’t let your lab partner die of hunger,” he mutters. you roll your eyes and fish out another pair of chopsticks from your bag. this must have been it, you think, why you had the sudden urge to bring another pair of chopsticks to school this morning.
