Green Lantern Corps (2006) #24
Bzzd:
Soranik: What's a word thats a mix between 'sad' and 'mad'? Bzzd: Disgruntled, miserable, desolated- Sodam: Smad.
Arisia, holding a python: Guys I impulsively bought a snake, what do I name him Iolande: You did WHAT– Kyle: William Snakespeare
Guy: Here’s a fun Zarnakus* idea. We hang mistletoe, but instead of kissing, you have to FIGHT whoever else is under it. Salakk: Guy no. Hannu: Mistlefoe. Salakk: Please stop encouraging him.
*Isamot and Vath sitting in jail together* Isamot: So who should we call? Vath: I’d call Kilowog, but I feel safer in jail
John: Can I be frank with you guys? Stel: Sure, but I don’t see how changing your name is gonna help. G'nort: Can I still be G'nort? Hal: Shh, let Frank speak.
Jessica: Simon and I were crossing the street, and this Karen drove by and told us to go back to our own countries. B'dg: *Sighing* What did Simon do? Jessica: He chased her to the next red light, then reached into her window and... Simon: Who wants a steering wheel?
Jo: I slept for almost 12 hours but I might still be tired so lets go for 12 more just incase. Mogo: Lantern Mullein, that is a coma. Jo: Sounds festive.
*An old Maltusian festival that the Green Lantern Corps adopted as a holiday at some point, it's like Christmas, Halloween, and Thanksgiving rolled into one massive party. Various Green Lanterns have introduced bits of their own cultures over the millennia- John Stewart and Katma Tui were responsible for the original mistletoe.
"My will is just as strong as yours. As is my resolve to bring evil to justice."
I really like the idea of Bzzd as a partner to Mogo, the minuscule insect-like green lantern a partner of the sentient planet green lantern. It's so easy to dismiss him for his size, but he is actually a very smart and articulate creature. In my perspective Green Lantern Corps books are at their best when exploring these kinds of alien scenarios and science-fiction concepts, aside from the charisma of most of human green lanterns, this is what attracts me the most to the GL mythos

one (1) emotional support ball + friend for @creepysora thank you for the kofi!
#tbt Green Lantern Corps and my first and last covers. I drew scripts written by Johns, Gibbons, Champagne, and Tomasi with a few ideas of my own contributed, like Guy Gardner becoming a Red Lantern, Bzzd’s origin and death and a few others I’m sure I’ve forgotten. I was the artist for 47 issues (52 counting the miniseries) with only a handful of fill-ins over those years. It was an intense schedule. Often going to the line but never shipping late over those years. I shared a studio with @thedougmahnke for much of this run. It was exciting to work alongside him and the writers creating some memorable characters Soranik Natu, Iolande, Sodam Yat etc. Towards the end of my run and throughout Sinestro Corps War and Blackest Night we were drawing an ever evolving cast of thousands it seemed. Our editors were stressed I’m sure, but always had faith and our backs and gave us what we needed to get the job done and minimize fill-ins. (Always been thankful for that.) It was hard work by all, inkers colorists, letterers, so many, but for my money it was was well worth it to have this body of work on our shelves. I even got to go to the GL Premire with Doug and Geoff and see a few cameos of characters I co-created on the big screen like , Bzzd, R’amy Holl, and Isamot Kol. When it was time to wrap up my run I asked if I could bookend the last cover with our first and add in new characters to show how the members of Corps grew under our 47/52 issues, and as you can see It was approved, and the rest is Oan history. #greenlanterncorps #greenlantern #guygardner #soraniknatu #bzzd #kylerayner #kilowog #patrickgleason #comics #blackestnight #brightestday https://www.instagram.com/p/B9XRE0BAdKZ/?igshid=1tkjf0udddz01
I'd like to remind everyone that Bzzd is the best Green Lantern
