most haunting line ive ever heard is "she had a good heart. she did. it was just.... torn out of her."

Thinking about how twice throughout the show, Daisy had to see the face of her dad, but have them not know who she was. (First when Cal's mind was wiped by project TAHITI, and second with Sarge)
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. s02e08 The Things We Bury
if i had a nickel for every time a character played by kyle maclachlan was an acting-good father but a complicated character, and in the end he gets his memory wiped for the betterment of his daughter...... I'd have two nickels. which is not much but how the HELL could this happen to me again.
Kyle MacLachlan talked about how when he was on agents of shield they really wanted him to go for this big camp energy, and like it’s so big brained. In many ways he looks like a comic book character, big strong jaw. So casting him in this roll as this mad scientist who likes to present himself as much bigger and badder than he really is just works really well. Because Cal is also a role that Cal is playing up. He can be the big scary bad guy to protect his wife from the world that ripped her apart.
