🔥 [opinion on m-preg?]

[[ I actually hate the concept of m-preg because it ties in closely with treating a gay couple like a straight couple, IE one acts as “the woman” (submissive, smaller, weaker), and one is “the man” (dominant, taller/bigger, stronger) and I loathe it. It’s a super cheap writing tactic. A gay couple in fiction can adopt, and they don’t require children to be happy. Does it even make sense for the couple to desire children in the first place? Or is it a subconscious expectation of the writer that a couple is not complete without a child? (aka, they are treating them like a het couple again.) It’s physically impossible.
To go with this, I don’t mind if someone writes a trans man getting pregnant, but one has to be careful. Most trans men do not want to become pregnant (the point of transitioning), so it could cause an awful kick in dysphoria they worked to try to get rid of. If you’re willing to tackle these issues realistically, write what you want. Keep in mind, is it IC/OOC for this same-sex couple to desire children? ]]
