They just keep coming dont they. At this point i think i'm doing these for fun or out of some sick sense of determination. Idk i just like. I guess i'm not doing anything else right now. Fuck it captcha hours lets see how many i can collect. It has been 8 hours since the ffxiv servers went down for maintenance.

The birds were chickens bok'ing btw. I've crashed the website a few times now (locally I hope lol) and apparently forced the launcher into offline mode. I could still... download stuff so I started installing the game and its 100GB. Fuck that. I can handle 3 hours of captchas. I cannot handle a 100GB download.

Looking forward to when I have to renew my license, at which time I'm sure the captchas will have evolved to be a conversation with ChatGPT where I have to figure out what flawed conception of the world I have to pay lipservice to in order to validate my continued existence.

ReCaptcha is bad, don't use it, it should be burned in the fires of this capitalist hellscape along with everything else.

hey, can companies please stop doing captchas like these? i get that i might not be the majority with my weird vision issues, like the constant double vision and what have you, but when you don't even offer audio alternatives any more it really feels like 'well, fuck you i guess' when i can't do these

A rant: I loathe CAPTCHAS with a burning passion. They used to be fine but now they're nearly impossible to solve. I cannot tell you how many minutes of my life I have wasted trying to click on images of crossroads, motorcycles or traffic lights, only to do it "wrong" and have to start over again. 😭 I cannot tell you how many times my boomer parents rang me saying that the CAPCHA won't go away and they can't access a website or even log into an account. I cannot tell you how many times I gave up entirely on accessing a website because the CAPTCHA asked me to look at this incomprehensible image of letters and numbers mixed together, and I couldn't do it because I'm visually impaired. Don't get me started on the AI-generated images they seem to use in CAPCTHAS more, nowadays.

There have to be better ways to determine whether a user is a human, without infringing on their privacy OR frustrating the blood out of them.
