➡️ Every generation faces its own battles, but for ours, the battlefield often looks like a classroom, a resume, or a set of competitive exams.
On one side, this chase shapes us. It pushes us to dream big, aim higher, and never settle. Careers that once seemed unreachable now feel possible because we have the resources, exposure, and ambition to get there. We are dreamers who believe that with enough hard work, the world can open its doors.
But on the other side, the game isn’t always fair. Pressure, comparison, and burnout often creep in. The line between chasing dreams and chasing society’s definition of “success” becomes blurred. Many of us are left asking—am I studying for myself, or just playing a role in this endless competition?
Perhaps the answer lies in balance. Education should not only be a ladder to a career but also a bridge to self-discovery. It should prepare us not just to earn, but to live—creatively, passionately, and meaningfully.
I’ve been a bit hesitant about volunteer work until now. Mainly because a lot of the translation blogs I’ve been following advise not to unless it’s for a charity or organisation you’re really passionate about.
However, I had a helpful conversation with another translator who kindly took time out of her busy schedule to give me some tips on getting started. Her view was that if you don’t have any translation experience (which I currently don’t beyond my masters) then any experience that you can put on your CV is helpful; particularly because most translation jobs require at least two years experience.
So this week I’ve looked into volunteering websites, joined a few and applied for a few volunteer translations. I thought I would share the ones I’m signed up for:
- Translators without borders (This is good because you can set up alerts for your language pairs)
- UN volunteering (This is great because you can do all sorts of volunteering on this not just translation and they have all kinds of language pairs too)
- BabelCube (I’m not sure if this technically classes as volunteering because you earn a portion of the royalties if your translation is published but it’s good for literary translation as it’s all books)
-TEDtalks (I’m yet to really explore this as they are moving over to a new platform and aren’t currently accepting new applications but it should be good for subtitling experience I think)
Feel free to link me any others you think are useful!

Wisecut is an AI-powered video editing tool that takes your long-form video — a webinar, a podcast recording, a coaching session, a YouTube video — and automatically transforms it into multiple short, platform-ready clips.
Here's what the AI does automatically:
✅ Detects and removes all dead air and long pauses Silence removal
✅ Generates animated captions with bold keyword highlights AI captions
✅ Converts horizontal video to 9:16 for Reels & Shorts Auto-reframing
✅ Outputs multiple 15–60 second clips ready to post Clip generation
The Editing Problem It Solves
Let's put real numbers to this. If you record two hours of video content per week and spend two hours editing for every hour recorded, that's four hours of editing time — every single week. Over a year, that's more than 200 hours. That's five full work weeks spent exclusively on editing.
Wisecut compresses that dramatically. You upload your raw footage. The AI processes it. You review the output, approve the clips, and post. The actual hands-on time drops to minutes rather than hours.
A real AppSumo reviewer put it simply: "Slashed my editing time. Highly recommend." That's not marketing language — that's a working content creator describing their actual workflow change.
The Hidden Opportunity
Here's the angle most people miss: Wisecut doesn't just speed up your workflow. It unlocks content you'd otherwise never publish.
Most creators have hard drives full of valuable recorded content they never repurposed because editing felt too overwhelming. Wisecut makes that backlog accessible. Every webinar recording, every old podcast episode, every interview you filed away — all of it becomes a source of fresh short-form content.
Your archive is a goldmine. Wisecut is the tool that helps you mine it.

Together, they cover two of the most time-consuming tasks in any content or online business workflow — and they do it with AI that actually works.
If you create video content: Wisecut is a no-brainer purchase.
If you have data that should be a website: Shareables will change your week.
If you do both: congratulations, you just found two of the most practical AppSumo deals this year.

Data Science Certification Course with Placement | Samyak Classes
In 2026, the landscape for data science certifications has shifted away from purely academic theory toward "job-ready" skills, specifically focusing on cloud deployment (MLOps) and generative AI integration.
Choosing the right certification depends heavily on your current experience level and whether you want to master a specific tool (like Azure) or a general methodology.
Top Certifications for 2026
1. For Absolute Beginners
These programs focus on the "Foundational Four": Python, SQL, statistics, and data visualization.
Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate: Best for those with zero experience. It focuses heavily on the "data mindset" and tools like R and Tableau.
IBM Data Science Professional Certificate: Slightly more technical than Google’s. It uses Python and covers basic machine learning models earlier in the curriculum.
2. For Career Switchers (Intermediate)
If you already know the basics and need to prove you can handle enterprise-level data.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate (DP-100): Focuses on running machine learning workloads on the Azure cloud. This is high-value as more companies move to cloud-native data science.
AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty: Ideal for those targeting roles in engineering-heavy environments. It covers the entire ML pipeline from data ingestion to deployment.
CompTIA Data+: A vendor-neutral certification that proves you understand data governance and quality—critical skills for mid-level roles.
3. For Advanced Professionals
These are "prestigious" credentials that often require years of experience or a peer-review process.
Certified Analytics Professional (CAP): Known as the "gold standard" for vendor-neutral certification. It focuses on the end-to-end analytics process, including business problem framing.
Open Certified Data Scientist (Open CDS): This is unique because it is experience-based rather than exam-based. You must submit a portfolio of real-world projects to a board of experts.

Why Get Certified in 2026?
The AI Wave: Modern certifications now include modules on generative AI literacy and prompt engineering, which are becoming standard requirements in job descriptions.
Salary Impact: Certified data scientists in 2026 see an average salary uplift of 15–35% compared to non-certified peers, especially when paired with cloud skills.
Portfolio Building: Most top-tier certifications (like IBM or Dataquest) now require a "Capstone Project" that gives you a tangible asset to show recruiters.
Pro Tip: Before buying a course, check the "tech stack" of your target companies on LinkedIn. If they use Microsoft Office 365, lean toward the Microsoft PL-300 (Power BI) or Azure certs. If they are a startup, Google/Python certifications often carry more weight.
To give you a better idea of how these certifications fit into a career path, are you looking to start your first job in data, or are you looking to specialize in a specific area like AI or cloud?
