What do you think are the chances of Kate or Sophie being casted as a Hispanic or Asian actress. I personally would love to see Kate played by someone Hispanic like Isabella Gomez (or Sierra Ramirez) to contrast with Edwina's more conventionally pretty looks. But an Asian actress like Ashley Liao would make me equally happy.

I think there's a very good chance that Kate and Sophie will be played by women of colour. Chris and Shondaland are committed to colour conscious casting. I'm not really familiar with your suggestions, they're all very pretty. Most likely whoever is cast will be British based.

since it’s revealed that Sara Rue is going to play Madame Lulu aka Olivia Caliban, i went back to rewatch this video where they announced the cast of Jacques, Esme, and Jerome and Sara Rue who "starts out as a librarian and goes on to perhaps better things”

better things, like, perhaps, inside a lion’s mouth

so,  anyway i couldn’t help but want to analyze why so many of us thought it’d be Kit (i know saying these things in hindsight is very ... but lol whatever. i had a v awful day and i need to take things of my mind by distracting myself with this so here we go)

ok the Profrock Librarian part definitely seems like a big hint about Kit, since we all knew Kit taught there at one point

but then again, quoting The Carnivorous Carnival

but ... the “goes on to perhaps better things” from the video. maybe it was meant to be something like “The owner of a carnival” or something. 

(Also, both she and Kit died in the books, so i probably really shouldn’t take that into account in this argument(?))

but honestly when i first heard the news today the first thing i thought was, “I bet Daniel Handler knew we’d all guess Sara to play Kit, which .... should’ve made me realize that she won’t be.” LOL

anyway, i’m very excited to see Olivia Caliban having a storyline in the background, it’s going to be v interesting. maybe there’ll also be a scene where she might meet Jacques or something ...

(p.s. i’m beginning to think that Kit won’t appear in season 2 after all. well, unless she is Jacquelyn .... meaning that she’s already appeared in season 1 ...)

(i also haven’t completely abandon the theory that Jacquelyn might be R lol. yeah it’s a bit stretched maybe, but ... there’s a possibility lol)
