hey witches,
does anyone know of a spell to summon/bring a cat into your life? I have a literal ball of shed hairs of the cat I want, and I’ve scrounged up $120/$135 (for the adoption fee).
Feel free to reblog with links, or message me directly... whatever is easier on the anxiety.
Im a witch and I have a cat named salem. Dont fuck with me.
Is anyone else "haunted" by their past pets?
I swear to god, my past cat is still around. Her name was princess and we had her cremated, i have her ashes in my living room. When she was alive she always took a shower with me. She loved the heat and would go in between the shower curtains. Whenever i go and take a shower i swear the curtains move like shes walking in between them. Sometimes i even see and outline of her. Even out of the shower sometimes i see her out of the corner of my eye, or feel her jump on my bed when nobodys there. Anyone else experience something similar?
Crystal Bonding spell to protect and connect you and your familiar.
This is a spell to connect two crystals, specifically Black Tourmaline. Black Tourmaline crystal is a powerful stone for protection against negative energy of all kinds, as well as being a strong spiritual grounding stone. The intent of this spell is to “link” the two stones so both wearers will be protected and also able to connect with one another energetically. Great for Familiars (familiar spirits (sometimes referred to simply as "familiars") are believed to be supernatural entities that would assist witches in their practice of magic.) This can also be used with friends!
What you’ll need:
-2 Black Tourmaline neckless pendents
-Black Bag
-Full Moon
-The Wunjo (w) and Ehwaz (e) runes.
On the night of a full moon, gather up these items and cast your circle. Once you’ve cast your circle take your two tourmaline pendents and hold them in your hand. With your mind focused on your intent, say the runes “Wunjo, Ehwaz”. ( Wunjo means harmony, well-being, fellowship, strengthens bonds, links of all things. Ehwaz means harmonious, the combination of two sympathetic forces or entities workings harmoniously towards a goal, astral travel.) Place your pendents into the black bag, then add your two runes. (if you don’t own runes, you may simply draw both on a paper) Leave out to charge in the light of the full moon. In the morning take your bag and say, “so may it be”. The two crystals are now linked. Not only will the Black Tourmaline protect the wearers, but connect and link you to your Familiar. If your Familiar is lost, or you need to call them home, you only need but summon them with your mind. This will also help aid you in your magical workings and make your spells stronger.
Pagan Magick Book Review
Today's Book: The Good Cat Spell Book, by Gillian Kemp
Religions/Beliefs covered: While this covers any belief, the oracle mat that your cat is supposed to step on to answer questions is Egyptian based, but the answers in the key is the same. (Yes, this comes with an Egyptian-symbol-covered oracle mat for your cat to step on. :3 )
This is one of those books for the cat-lovers out there who want something that is not only possible to actually perform in terms of magick, but it's cute and fun, too. If you're a cat-lover who wishes to eventually work with your cat, this is a cute and fun book to start with. There were times, though, where I sort of had difficult taking this seriously thinking that this was bogus, but then I remembered from reading other books that the intention and focus are what really matters. There are many practices to help make your intentions much more focused and feel stronger, which is what we want. Everybody is different, and this book is just another way to help get your intention and focus in-tune. Sometimes some witches and wizards need a feline companion to be able to effectively perform certain acts of magick. It really couldn't hurt.
Before I really begin with the review, I'd like to point out that many of the things in here that you're able to do mostly involves you doing all of the work. Your cat(s) is/are more of a channeler or something of that sort. There's really no tricks to teach your cat, there's nothing that deals with blood, either. So for those of you who are worried about the cat's well-being: fear not! This is 100% safe for your cat. :)
The first chapter, "The Cat as Your Familiar", explains how and why cats are a common familiar among witches and goes into the history behind it and refers to other religious and spiritual beliefs about cats such as the Egyptian goddess, Bast. There's also some biological explanations about cats sprinkled throughout the book, actually. One of them explains why cats can very easily see in the dark.
Next is about "Cats as Objects of Worship and Fear" which also goes into a lot of history-diving to explain who worshiped cats, how, and why, as well as who feared them and for what reasons. (And what's funny is that cats are continuously held with high respect or of high importance in some sense to this day. I mean, look at all of the cat videos and cat pictures on the internet! You don't have to believe in something mystical about cats just to love them!)
I, personally, am not entirely too fond of this next chapter, but then again, I'm engaged (at the time I am making this post), but the main reason chapters like this bother me is because I'm afraid that some people turn to witchcraft for this reason alone. This one is one about spells for love and romance. Love and romance is lovely and all, but I still worry when some people turn to witchcraft specifically for this reason alone.
Anyway, this chapter teaches you your first spells involving your cat. This gives you a list of things you'll need as well as instructions on what to do. (Much like a cook-book, but without the cooking.) You'll soon find that it's mostly the cat's presence (along with a few other minor factors) is what really makes these "cat spells." I've read all of these spells and they are very cute, but also very possible, to perform. Like I've said before, the intention and focus is all that counts, and if this sort of thing helps you, then great! If not, then you've got a cute book for giggles, I guess.
Before I go on any further, I forgot to mention this earlier: the spells in this are very silly, at least most of them sound silly to me. If you want to engage into this kind of magick using this book and these spells are too silly for you to use, make up your own version! I'd personally prefer I make up my own version because I'd feel like I'm putting a part of myself into the practice. An example of one of these silly spells, which is the first love and romance-related spell, goes like this:
Cat be nimble,
Cat be quick.
As the flame burns the wick,
Bring me true love quick.
I know. Silly. But there are some good ones in here. Here's another one for the same spell that you say early on in this one:
As fur burns in this flame, (fur as in what your cat as shed, by the way.. remember: no cat is harmed in any of these practices within this book)
Into your mind enters my name.
As your name burns,
To me your heart turns.
During my cat's nocturnal hours,
[name of cat] will work on you his/her magical powers.
I will be in your dreams while you rest,
Until you grant my love request.
Simple, but better than some of the other silly ones. I will say that there is quite a bit of candle magick involved in some of these spells. A lot of these are very creative.
But this chapter isn't just about attracting someone into your life. Some of these spells in here are said to help you with a fight, help over a break-up, help you break up with someone, etc. So I give the author lots of credit for covering all bases dealing with love and romance and not just focusing on attraction to the practitioner alone.
The 5th chapter deals with spells for wealth and good fortune. As with the love and romance spells, this chapter covers a lot of other bases than just making money. There is a spell in here to help get you out of debt, there's even one about selling your home. I find this one something I'd never expected: to prevent legal action. I'm very impressed with how many things under "good wealth and fortune" is really covered, and it's not just about attracting money and that's it.
Chapter 6 has spells for health and healing. While there's plenty of spells under candle magick for healing purposes as well as some ways to help heal with crystals, for some it might be more calming with the mind as well as the body to have your cat involved. (Just petting a kitty is therapeutic alone, so i'd imagine there might be a cat spell that might work for someone interested in cat magick.) There's one for healing your cat (as always, though, always make sure you take your cat to a professional veterinarian; magick is only an aid that helps with the healing process), there's a spell to help heal your cat while you're apart (for instance, you could be on vacation away from home and someone is cat-sitting your cat or something), there's one for aiding your cat during a visit to the vet, help healing a person in your presence, long-distance healing, healing a broken heart, healing your home of negative energy, even healing a relationship (any kind, not just romance).
The next chapter is called "Felidomancy: Feline Divination. This is where your cat is the one who answers some of your questions and the chapter implies that your cat is psychic. Of course cats can't speak like you and I can, but there are ways to see what the answer from your cat is, such as an answer could coincide with a number of treats left in the bowl your cat has left behind or something. I, personally, am a bit skeptic about this, considering this is saying your cat is psychic, and I've never done anything like this before (as of when I post this, I am living in an apartment where cats and dogs are not allowed). I don't know how authentic the info in this chapter might be. I feel like an ass for even saying that because I'm trying to be open-minded about this, but if it turns out it works for you, then great! If not, then maybe your cat wasn't meant to give you some answers? *shrug* I'm not too familiar with this area just yet.
Okay, this chapter is going to be tricky for some of you who have adopted a cat from a shelter. This is "know your cat by their astrological sign." basically, it's astrology and how the personality of the cat is due to their astrological sign. Unfortunately, not everybody knows exactly when their cat has been born. Perhaps going through these signs one by one might clue you in on what your cat's sign actually is? This chapter was meant to help you better understand your cat in order to become closer.
Last but not least, your cat as an oracle. This one I'm also semi-skeptic about but at least you'd be spending quality time with your cat. This is where the mat comes in that comes with the book. There a bit of preparation involved, which isn't much, and then there is a list of sample questions to ask your cat. The mat reads like a multiplication table, so whatever your cat steps on, look up the corresponding signs that meets up to what your cat stepped on, and there's your answer. There's an answer key that explains what that symbol stands for as an answer. You can read through the answers and make up questions that apply to multiple answers if you'd like, too.
I know that some of you might find quite a bit of what I've just explained a bit far-fetched or bogus, which is understandable, but perhaps this might work for others, which is why I have this up here. There are a few spells in here, particularly some healing spells, that I may want to try someday once I finally move and i'm able to raise a cat. But regardless, this is a cute and fun book for any cat-lover, and it is very informative on the background of cats throughout history.
