WELCOME TO CDD-ORIGINTERMS

The premise

I’m sure most systems on this app are aware of the horribly ableist ‘genic’ terms that ‘non-traumagenic’ systems seem to show off, for both systems and alters.

This is a blog to reclaim the idea for traumagenic (CDD/OSDID) systems under other suffix(es). We currently make -orgio, -surgo, -genis/-genesis/-generis, -ic, and -inian/-ian terms. If you have an alternate that you would like to suggest, please pop it in the inbox!

An example of this could be an alter formed from a hyperfixation. They could be hyperfixorigo, hyperfixsurgo, hyperfixgenis, hyperfixian, or hyperfixic

You can request a coin of a new term or a recoin of a non-traumagenic created term. Our inbox will always be open. If you share an image but wish to remain private just inform us and we will keep your request anonymous. ‘Xeno-origins’ will not be accepted, as this is a blog for a disorder, and will be treated as such.

You may request alternate flags for disorder-based origins. You may coin alt flags. Please tag us or link us in/to your coining post please!

Our stances

THE ONLY VALID (backed by SCIENCE) SYSTEM ‘ORIGIN’ IS TRAUMAGENIC. Stress is trauma. Bullying is trauma. Emotional abuse is trauma. Your trauma is enough.

This is a blog for TRAUMAGENIC ALTER ORIGINS. Essentially their reason for splitting or forming. Alters can split from atypical ‘traumatic’ events. This is a reminder that stress is traumatic, and alters formed by stress and things like hyperfixations, exam stress, family, are valid. This is not debatable. The brain does not split parts for the fun of it.

We are anti-endo. This is a personal boundary. However, any CDD system may use these terms as this isn’t a widely used concept and we don’t want to limit anyone who would benefit from these from using them.

We warn against sharing these origins publicly. This is sensitive info, and while I can’t stop you, please be safe about who you share this info with. We suggest treating them as you would a trigger. Please be careful when reblogging not to go ‘me fr’ or ‘[part/alter] fr’ or similar.

I've been planning a while to make a post on the term "syshopping"

Does anyone have any rescources on its coining?

Specifically references for its use before endos as ramcoa term for alters moving between subsystems?

I know it's a hard dig because of how often and flooded its use is from endos using it for "alters moving from one person's system to another" which is batshit, but I'm trying hard to make awareness for its origins at the very least.

because as sys with many layers/sides/subs i would like to use/reclaim that term or offer an alternative disconnected from what endos now use that fits that expirience.

I just wanna vent/have that discussion and have clearer ideas of terms.

If there are any posts of its earlier uses or anything outside endos missuse that would really help

hi hi !! what do you think of the idea that alters can form from extreme positive stress ? i've seen that idea a lot and I just wanted to know your stance on it - it would make sense as positive stress and negative stress can often be treated the same by the brain (i.e., having a panic attack after being too excited, spiralling after finding out good news, etc)

Im not an authority on this at all, but after the system generally is formed i believe that alters can split whenever theyre needed- whatever that is for

I probably wouldnt describe it as positive splits or positive stress as i dont think the brain would split if it wouldnt positively affect the system? Because even if the stress isnt- splits are traumatic on the brain, and i dont think it would split unless it was needed yk?

but like. as an example. an alter who splits to be really happy to boost the general systems mood. sure!

NPDian / Narcissinian

NPD FLAG CRED

TERM MEANING:

NPDian or Narcissinian are umbrella terms for any alter who split to deal with the pw/CDD’s NPD (or Narcissistic Personality Disorder). This part may have formed due to delusions, a heightened need for attention, rejection sensitivity or any other thing related to NPD. They might have formed to suppress a heightened ego, to deal better with rejection or calm the pw/cdd down from delusional episodes. They might also have formed to hold symptoms of the pw/cdd’s npd, and may be overly egotistical, confident or self-assured. These parts may do uncomfortable things for attention and may react badly to any criticism or rejection. They may need more attention than other parts to deal with this and to prevent a crash or split. They may struggle to uphold socially acceptable relationships and may shift the conversation to be around them and their interests. This may or may not be intentional.

This label is not suitable for any part who split to deal with another persons NPD. ‘Narcissistic abuse’ is emotional abuse with a harmful label. This label is also not suitable for any part who claims to have npd that the rest of the system doesn’t. Disorders overtake your entire brain, not just one part. However, symptoms and severity can differ between alters.

FLAG IDs:

Direct ID: A horizontally symmetrical eleven stripe flag. The outermost stripes are black, then red, then orange, then yellow towards the middle. The middle stripe is a dusty purple, with white stripes above and below it

Colour meaning: Based directly from the OG npd flag HERE. Black: Support for people with NPD. Red: Normalization of symptoms. Doctors frequently see our symptoms as making us inherently broken, but this isn’t true. NPD symptoms are not a deathwish. Orange: Proper information and resources. NPD has so many clickbait titles to the point where finding proper information can be hard, and we should change that. Yellow: NPD awareness and education. Helping people learn about it in a healthy environment, its causes, and its symptoms. White: Recovery. People with NPD are capable of, and deserve to, recover. Purple: Solidarity between people with NPD and other cluster B disorders.

TERM MEANING:

Kintsuginian or Exsargiorgio are terms for an alter / part formed from the fusion of fragments. They may have formed from a need to integrate and fuse to lower dissociation, increase communication, lessen identity issues, or any other benefit of fusion/integration. This alter / part may have formed due to judgement or harassment for a large alter/fragment count or high fragment ratio, possibly due to having more complex trauma and identifying as polyfragmented, OEA, etc. They may be a host or frequent fronter, but not necessarily. These parts might be fused from several parts that perform the same role, such as knowledge holders, trauma holders or those who front to deal with daily life. This can collate the information or abilities into one more functional or more capable part. In the case of a trauma holder or EP (emotional part) this fusion may help a pw/cdd to better understand trauma or triggers and to heal on a more collective level. For a host or frequent fronter they may be fused from past hosts / frequent fronters, possibly due to the memories or knowledge they hold.

Direct ID: A horizontally symmetrical eleven stripe flag. The outer three stripes are varying gradient shades of red, with the darkest being on the top and bottom, and the lighter toward the middle. The middle stripe is a dusty orange, with gold stripes above and below it. The stripes outside of the gold are a brighter orange.

Colour meaning: This flag and term are inspired by Japanese Kintsugi, which is a process of fixing broken ceramics with a golden glue or paste. The alternate term is inspired by the latin word Exsarcio: to mend or repair. The damage becomes part of the items identity and history, and adds to the beauty. The gold stripes represent the golden bond used in the practice, and the positive result of the fusion/integration in pw/cdds. Red is considered to be a sign of strength and protection in Japanese culture. The orange bridges the gap between and represents change and fluidity, like autumn leaves.

Paranoian (par-ah-noi-an) kinda cheesing the ian/inian for this one lol

Originating from the need to cope with paranoia by any degree so long as you experience it and need something to help cope.

It's no surprise if you split one if you experience paranoia lol

Can be a paranoia holder or just a soother who specializes in paranoia, but of course is not required

TERM MEANING:

Paranoian or Paranoic are terms for any alter that deals with paranoia. The alter/part may have formed due to paranoia episodes, delusions, anxiety or obsessions and worries. They might have formed to suppress paranoia or to hold it and cope better with it in daily life and episodes. These alters/parts might front in paranoia episodes to reduce the effects and ground themself. They may front to suppress these symptoms and behaviours to appear more normal infront of other people. These alters / parts may struggle heavily with delusions or compulsive obsessions due to paranoia. They may be paranoia or delusion holders, anxiety holders, symptom suppressors or another role entirely. They may be a caregiver or a soother and be able to calm themself or another alter/part down in case of a paranoia episode.

FLAG IDs:

Direct ID: A horizontally symmetrical eleven stripe flag. The outer two stripes on each side are different shades of orange, with a darker shade on the outside and a lighter shade on the inside. The middle 7 stripes are various shades of purple, with the darkest in the middle and the lighter stripes next to the orange.

Colour meaning: The shades of purple represent the inner or underlying peace that Paranoian / Paranoic alters or parts may have or wish to have. It can also represent the ideal state of the system when not in a paranoia episode. The outer shades of orange represent the twisted filter that paranoia can overlay onto normal things, almost like rose tinted glasses. The orange clashes with the purple to show how paranoia can make regular activities unnerving and uncomfortable.

Human'tian

An alter formed in response to trauma relating to being treated as less than human be it actively removing one's humanity through extensively inhumane treatment orthings such as neglect/extreme limitation of basic needs both physical and mental

I would say this is an umbrella origin that encompasses all things involving physical/emotional neglect, forced rejection of humanity by any means and so on

Maybe more desaturated and black/grey colours if you were to make a flag nodnod

Human’tian // Dehumanian

TERM MEANING:

Human’tian or Dehumanian are umbrella terms for any alter or part formed due to dehumanisation trauma. This could apply to an alter or part who split to hold trauma, cope with it, or suppress it. These alters or parts might prefer to use it/its pronouns to reclaim their nonhumanity, and might not consider themself human. They might need assistance in remembering basic human necessities like eating. They might be sourced from a nonhuman or consider their appearance to be nonhuman

FLAG IDs:

Direct ID: A horizontally symmetrical eleven stripe flag. The four outer stripes are various shades of grey, with the darkest on the top and bottom, gradually getting lighter. The middle three stripes are various shades of skin tone, with the middle stripe being cooler tones than the stripes on either side. The skin tones are lighter on the left side than on the right. In the first flag there are 7 distinct colours for each skin tone stripe, and on the second the colours are blurred so that it gradually shifts.

Colour meaning: The shades of skin tone represent the inner humanity human’tian or dehumanian alters/parts may have. They may or may not see themself as having an inner humanity, and this is okay. The grey stripes represent the lack of humanity that they experience. The grey can also represent the feeling of being ‘corrupted’ or ‘stained’ by trauma, and feeling unable to move on from it or have an identity outside of it.
