February 22nd - Centurius
A Nobel Prize-winning geneticist with an uncanny gift for scientific invention, the man who would come to be known as Centurius became convinced that mankind was doomed to destroying itself. He secreted himself away to a remote island where he conducted experiments with the aim of propelling human evolution beyond its self-destructive state. This island fortress was happened upon by Shield agents Nick Fury and Jimmy Woo. Centurius attempted to do away with the agents so to keep his work private. Although Centurius was seemingly killed in the ensuing battle, the villain showed up again searching out the mysterious Bloodgems. He is later incarcerated on the Raft and recruited into Luke Cage’s Thunderbolts program. Following that the villain became involved in The Hood’s Crime Syndicate. Centurius first appeared in Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. #2
