okay i did laugh. the name of vegapunk's devil fruit is the ノミノミの実/nomi nomi no mi (since the 'fruit' part of a devil fruit's name is の実/no mi in japanese) which is why as he's introducing himself he messes up by repeating nomi a few too many times. it's named after the word 脳みそ/noumiso, which is 'brains/brain tissue.'

The fact that the rest of them are having these giant reactions to Lucci while Robin, the one who should theoretically be the most affected, isn’t scared or angry at all is one of those things that lasts through the next few chapters and I can understand why the rest of them would to keep him away from her but I don’t necessarily think Robin has any personal issues with Lucci given that the only one who was actually treating her badly was Spandam and she got her revenge there!

Chapter 1067 — Punk Records

I totally missed the chapter so a late upload it is. But fear not, I will keep gushing about the science and more and everything because this is just amazing.

First of, although the Germa/Caesar-cover story is interesting, the best part this week is a) the ambiguity in who’s saying the tagline, and b) Ichiji and Niji in the background, so fed up with their father.

Br-br-brrrrrrrr goes the Vespa.

I like how the shading of where Vegapunk’s head used to be continues up behind the top panels.

And Luffy’s pure enjoyment of SCIENCE!boots.

My random musings a few chapters ago were correct! It’s an archive. Or the One Piece version of the internet. With its downsides and all.

However you want to look at it, cesspool of scum and villainy it is.

I feel you, Vegapunk.

I really like the fact that the navy left the Devil’s Fruit at Punk Hazard because Vegapunk called it a failure. “The genius said it’s a dud, it surely can’t work in that case” and completely missing the streak of perfectionism a mile wide.

Chopper, being the caring doctor he is is just precious. And Luffy, not caring about status but caring about his new friends.

And Chopper has put Bonney in the recovery position (although she almost fell in it naturally). The author has been to a first aid course at least.

Did Bonney age the seraphims up so they were ready to fight?

The arc is shaping up to be really interesting!

The power source is looking more and more interesting, as much as Vegapunk’s iterations is talking about it.

Why is Usopp so angry about Bonney? Since it’s usually Nami who knows their fellow pirates, it might just be a translatorn or drawing error.

And Sanji perks right up when he sees a woman. Of course.

This is completely played for comedy but it does explain a lot about Vegapunk and it’s...a little concerning thinking about how many powerful weapons he’s just thrown out because some little detail was wrong even if they worked as intended otherwise...
