Thanks to @gntkreed for chapter 609 and 726's Brook
Look. After what happened on the Sea Train I am definitely not averse to seeing Sanji fight with knives again but I like all of these moment within these couple of chapters that just prove over and over again how little Sanji’s birth family knows about the person he’s become.
Sanji’s brothers, both in the present and the past, refer to him as 落ちこぼれ/ochikobore. Literally it means something like ‘fallen scraps/leftovers/garbage.’ It’s also used to refer to like, a dropout/someone who isn’t good enough to keep up with demands.
...Yeah if you think anything that the Celestial Dragons does is worth emulating then we’re going to have issues...
Literally what was the point of the last two chapters then??? I mean unless this was just another attempt to humiliate Sanji by thinking they were accepting him and then pulling this but that was never going to happen anyway.
‘I’m glad to see you’re so understanding’ he’s clearly being sarcastic and you can’t even see that much.
Although the one thing that Judge does count on is that Sanji’s inherently kind nature hasn’t changed and that’s...certainly true...
This doesn’t end particularly well for him but it’s been so long since he’s gotten to drop snarky one-liners in battle that I’m appreciating it regardless.
