so I forgot it was tu bishvat but today during my rehearsal someone said there was a really good view of the moon so I looked out and there was a perfect full moon and my immediate thought process was "oh it must be the 15th" so now this tu bishvat evening I am feeling a deep connection with our ancestors tracking the holidays by the position of the moon in the sky
all i want for the new year is for jews to be safe and happy. just leave us the fuck alone.
It’s so incredibly surreal that it has been nearly two years since October 7th. The day that changed the lives of every Jew in the world. The day that the world decided “actually, hating Jews is okay again as long as they’re Zionists”. It has been a trying time for all of us.
The fact that the second anniversary of the most bloody massacre of Jews since the Holocaust falls out this year on Sukkot is interesting. We want to mourn such a fresh wound, yet it’s supposed to be a happy day. I for one know I’ll likely be feeling mixed tomorrow. However, I also want to enjoy this chag for all those that can no longer do so. I want to look through the schach of my family’s sukkah and see the stars. I want to eat warm food and sing. All for those that are no longer with us because tragedy struck. May all of us take the time we need to grieve, but also take the time to enjoy this happy chag.
Chag Sameach, my shalomies. May all of your sukkot be like a shining star in this tide of darkness we’re facing together.
Happy Hanukkah and Chag Sameach to my followers who celebrate. Otherwise to those who don't take this dude smoking 8 days of joints cause it rules severely
On the second night of Hanukkah, Tevye the Milkman gave to me: a three-tiered side table someone probably stole from Ross and left in the Dollar Tree parking lot which I grabbed, sanitized, and am now using as a makeup stand,
and a partridge in a pear tree
