"In love a mysterious heat is felt around the heart, and a great abundance of blood in the lungs, which makes us open our arms as if to embrace something, and this inclines the soul to join to itself willingly the object presented to it
Descartes à Chanut (1er février 1647)
Beside the fact that in this statement lovers are more or less doomed to drown into their own blood, I wonder if anyone have ever linked some of Descartes' biological propositions with the Hindu chakras, because there are quite a few resemblances (as far as I know the concept of chakras - which goes as far as their wikipedia page goes).
I'm browsing through his letters right now and found this, but that's even more obvious in his treatise of the passions of the soul.
