Synopsis:

Monty isn't quite acting himself. It's time to do what Sun does best and keep a kid out of harm's way!

Chapter 2 Excerpt: 

In the three weeks between Arya’s phone call and the start of filming season fourteen of Something Blue, Jon receives many warnings about appearing on the show. He does not, however, receive a warning about the crown of blue winter roses. When he steps out of the limo and sees it perched on top of Sansa’s head, he nearly laughs. The queen of love and beauty, indeed. Jon doesn't remember a crown of roses being included in the episodes he watched at Ygritte’s apartment. So the one included now makes him wonder if it’s a normal season premiere thing or a new gimmick that will be repeated throughout the season, the latest in a long list the show has tried to boost their ratings. Jon knows about this long list thanks to Arya and her girlfriend Jeyne. They went into full research mode even before he agreed to join the show as one of their olds. From the couple, he learned that two seasons ago, the number of contestants was cut in half, from twenty-four to twelve. Apparently, audiences are more invested when each contestant receives more screen time. “Otherwise, why care who gets eliminated during the first few rose ceremonies?” Jeyne had asked. The logic behind the show’s decision made a lot of sense to her. Arya pointed out that the same logic allowed the show to reduce their budget as well. Fewer contestants meant fewer plane tickets and hotel rooms they had to book. And prior to this season — Sansa’s season, as Jon likes to think of it — the show made another drastic change in hopes of securing high ratings and reducing their budget. Instead of continuing to film at the same location, the Something Blue Manion outside of Lannisport, they’re filming at a vacation rental in Highgarden. The owners of the rental agreed to loan it for free, figuring the attention gained from the show will allow them to increase their prices in the future. Arya read all about it on some blog. “Fifteen minutes of fame is a serious motivator,” she’d said. But Jon still wasn’t convinced about that. He couldn’t wrap his head around fame being Sansa’s motivator. Gods, what if she actually wants to fall in love? What if she does, but with someone other than me? [Read the rest here.]

Dream a Little Dream

Chapter 2 (Chapter 1)

Elliott’s comes to learn that most of Sunshine’s dreams are more interesting than shopping for cereal.

Spotlights reflect off the icy downhill track, flowing over and around the stairs in the downtown core. Spotlights, brighter than daylight, illuminate the red and blue RedBull Crashed Ice banners that line the track’s sides. They reflect, too, off the limestone walls of the nearby buildings. It’s a different kind of dream-lighting, this stark artificiality, glaring and cold in the dark of a cloudless winter night. Different, but as unreal as hazy sunlight, in its own way.

They inhale, nostrils freezing shut for a split-second when the frigid air hits. On the exhale, they purse their lips, sending the cloud of their breath flowing over the chin guard of their helmet. They smile to themselves, inhale, exhale again, a dragon blowing smoke.

“Nice castle.” A similarly helmeted and padded figure stands beside them, looking up at the white and green building to their left. Elliott, by his voice. (Elliott, by the fact that they don’t know anyone else who can jump into their dreams.)

“Yeah, it’s… not a castle.”

And then, out from the shadows, emerges a boy. No, a man? A teenager? A guy with the most beautiful head of hair Eddie has ever seen. And that’s a big compliment coming from him — his hair is his baby, even if he doesn’t take care of it as he should.

And then, as if his life is a Hollywood movie being directed by some auteur extraordinaire, the clouds part just enough that a single ray of sunshine hits the guy in question. A natural spotlight, the warm sunlight engulfs him, bouncing off his yellow sweater. It paints his skin in a golden light, and Eddie can’t help but audibly gasp at the sight.

Eddie and Max are step-siblings who are being raised by Wayne and his husband on their beloved Christmas tree farm. Excited to get out of Michigan, Eddie plans to enjoy his time in Hawkins. Enter the gorgeous Yellow Sweater wearing guy that is Steve Harrington.
