Music: Witch Woman by the Eagles and Iris by the GooGoo Dolls
You and Rowena had finished gathering the ingredients you had for the spell and headed back to the library. As you walked into the room you almost dropped the bowl you were holding at the sight of Crowley. Handsome didn’t begin to describe him and you caught yourself staring. He donned a smug smile at catching you, which just stirred your fire making you angry at him all over again. You moved next to Rowena and began placing things on the table with her.
“Do you have everything you need?” Sam asked, looking over all the things now in the table.
“Almost,” Rowena said with a sly smile. “I need the blood of a virgin.” Your eyes flashed to her in annoyance.
“You failed to mention that.”You stated, taking a cautious step back
“Oh don't be such a ninny. I only need a wee bit.” She rolled her eyes and held her arms out to the boys so they could remove her cuffs.
“No funny business.”Dean said unlocking her restraints. She rubbed her wrists and turned her attention back to the bowl.
“Believe me I don’t want more of these bastards running around and I like this century. The food is so much better then the dark ages.” She said as she picked up a curious looking stone and handed it to you. You looked at her with a raised brow. “This tracking spell is going to take a lot of juice dearie. I will need a little boost and the stone helps amplify magic.” You looked at her skeptically again. “It’s perfectly safe.” Her accent would have been calming had you not known who it was coming from. Crowley took a step forward at the thought of you having to be involved in the spell and you shot him a look that said back off.
After a few minutes she had measured and placed all of the ingredients in the bowl. She looked at you and held out her hand. Expelling a deep breath, you handed her your pocket knife. Biting your lip, you watched she made a medium size cut down the center of your palm; wincing as the knife pierced your flesh. All three men were ridged at the actions happening in front of them. Rowena placed the black and white stone in your hand, which you later found out was merlinite. She handed you a piece of paper with the words to the spell on it.
“You are going to have to say it with me.” You didn’t know anything about witchcraft so you did as she asked.
“Primo dicam, monstrum in tenebris.
Et sanguinem magicae quaero notitia.
Ostende mihi draconem.”
As you both chanted and the blood from your hand wrapped around the stone and fell into the bowl, you felt different. You closed your eyes and felt the magic take over. The stone grew warm in your palm as you continued.
“Primo dicam, monstrum in tenebris.
Et sanguinem magicae quaero notitia.
Ostende mihi draconem.”
Every one in the room had stopped and looked at you, even Rowena. Completely consumed with what you were doing you kept chanting.
“Primo dicam, monstrum in tenebris.
Et sanguinem magicae quaero notitia.
OSTENDE MIHI DRACONEM!”
You shouted the last sentence with such command that you thought the room shook. There was purple flash and the table burst into flames. As quick as the fire appeared, it went out and there was the name North Star Creek burnt into the wood. Thankful that the spell worked you looked up and saw eight dumfounded eyeballs staring at you. Rowena had a large smile plastered on her face. She pulled Crowley's pocket square out of his jacket and came over to wrap your hand.
“Why are you all looking at me like I just grew a nipple on my forehead?” You said a little worried.
“It has been long time since anyone has been in the presence of a natural witch, apart from myself.” She said with a smile as she tied the cloth around your still bleeding hand.
“What the hell are you talking about?” You looked at the boys confused and then at Crowley who was still shocked.
“Y/N, Rowena wasn’t the one who did the spell. You were.” Sam said, his mouth hanging open slightly.
“No, she was chanting with me.” You said taking a step back and leaning against the table behind you.
“I stopped when I felt your power.” She said with a sly smirk. You almost thought she looked proud. Now you were really starting to freak out.
“No. I.... I can’t be.” You stammered. You mind was so consumed with what had just happened that you began to pace around the room like and agitated caged animal. Crowley walked over to you and stood in your path. He reached up to touch you comfortingly and you took a step back. Turning away, you went back over to Rowena leaving the King of Hell standing there like an idiot, his comfort not yet welcome.
“How is this possible?” You demanded glaring at her. You were beginning to shake from the shock of everything.
“Some natural borns never know until they attempt to practice. That is how I found out.” You shook your head at her words. This is not happening.
“You want more proof?” She asked irritated. You looked at the boys, hoping they were going to prove it wasn’t you at any moment. Dean’s expression was hard and worried where as Sam’s was pure curiosity. Setting your gaze back on Rowena, you nodded your head.
“Say: Voco in potentia ad sanandum, while focusing on you cut hand.” She gave you a nod of encouragement. You took a deep breath and stared at the fabric covering your palm.
“Voco in potentia ad sanandum.” The words came out shaky as your lips trembled. Then, you felt the palm of your hand tingle. When you had finished, you unwrapped the fabric and saw that the cut on your hand had disappeared. You were a natural born witch. Fucking fantastic.
“That could come in handy.” Dean quipped, trying to lighten the mood. You looked at him and let out a nervous chuckle as you began to walk across the room. You needed a minute. Walking past the boys, you headed to the garage. You needed to process everything that had just happened. Did you want to be a witch? Should you be trained? And what were you going to do about Crowley?
Rowena moved to face your brothers. “She should be trained.” She said matter of factly.
“Forget it!” Sam said shaking his head as he looked over at Dean. Dean was sharing the same sentiment.
“Not going to happen.” He said crossing his arms as he usually did when faced with something he didn't like.
“She could be an asset to you. You saw how she was able to heal her self. Let me train her.” Rowena was persistent. She was your best shot as far as a mentor who could teach you anything and everything, but she was not trust worthy. Rowena was always looking out for number one.
“You are the last person who should be helping her. With your tutelage she would no doubt be used as a pawn or end up dead!” Crowley spat. He knew his mother well enough to know that her, as a teacher, was a terrible idea. Not able to stay away from you any longer, Crowley moved towards the Library exit.
Dean put a hand on his shoulder to stop him, causing Crowley to turn, anger flashing across his face for being stopped.
“She needs to know.” Crowley said reining in his mis places anger. Dean removed his hand. He knew that you could use a little good news at this point. Crowley talking to you was not a bad idea. The demon headed in the direction of the garage while Rowena continued to pester the boys about why she should be the one training you.
You understood why Dean always worked on Baby when he was dealing with inner turmoil. Focusing on something that was solid and could be fixed was comforting. You were looking forward to having your own set of wheels.
The footsteps you heard coming down the hall were soft and cautious. You knew exactly who they belonged to and it made your body tense. He was only a few feet from you but you didn't look up from what you were doing.
“What do you want?” You growled through gritted teeth. It was hard to believe that days ago you shared one of the most romantic kisses you have ever had in your life with him. Despite your bitterness and anger, you still wanted him to wrap you up in his arms. That frustrated you even more.
“We need to talk, love.” His words were soft and some what pleading. You wanted to give in but you were still hurt.
“No.” You said standing up and wiping off your hands. “We don’t need to do anything. We aren’t we anymore.” You threw the rag on the ground and crossed your arms, calling on the Winchester Aggression Stance to make you look bigger and tougher than you felt.
“Y/N.” He pleaded reaching out to you.
“No!” You yelled, moving to smack his hand away. He grabbed your arm as you tried striking him and he pulled you in tight. He normally wouldn’t have use his demon strength on you, but he was in that moment not a demon but a desperate man. You struggled against him. “You left me.” You cried as you struggled to get away at no avail. His arms gripped you like a vice. Realizing the effort to escape was fruitless, you gave up. Crowley loosened his grip on you, letting you know you could leave if you so wished. You stayed. Him holding you was like a drug.
“No love, I didn’t leave you. I always planned in coming back to you.” At his words, you turned in his arms to gaze at him, tears in your eyes.
“Why did you just leave and take the necklace, especially after what I told you? What was I supposed to think?” Tears slipping down your cheeks as you spoke.
“I wanted to surprise you.” Crowley broke the embrace and you panicked slightly at his lack of touch. You watched as he reached into his suit jacket and pulled out the necklace.
“I don’t know how this is all going to work but what I do know is that demon or not, I am falling for you.” He put the pendent back around your neck as the tender words he spoke lifted your fears.
You looked deep into his eyes when he pulled away and grabbed the lapel of his jacket. You pulled hard and crashed your lips on to his. Happy tears softly fell down your face at the feeling of his lips on yours. When you parted he rested his forehead on you and took in a deep breath, enjoying everything about you in his arms.
“So you are falling for me huh?” You said with a sniffle and a smile. Softly using his thumb, he brushed away a couple of stray tears.
“Yes my little human, I am.” He kissed your forehead again.
“Why did you take this then?” You asked confused, fidgeting with the pendant. Looking at it you didn’t see anything different. Holding his hand over the stone, Crowley mumbled something you couldn't make out and it started to glow faintly. Your eyes displayed more confusion.
“I took the necklace so I could put a charm on it. When you took off after verbally knocking my mother off her pedestal, I realized that you tend to disappear.” He smiled as he thought about your impulsiveness. “I cant alway know where you are so I thought I would do the next best thing. It doesn't matter where you are this pendant will call to me like a homing beacon. Only I can see it, and only I know what it does. I want to keep you safe.” His words were so soft and romantic, it made your heart swell.
“You lo jacked me?” You asked with a huge smile. He rolled his eyes at you, a loving smile never leaving his lips.
“Yes, dove. I plan on keeping you in my life for as long as I can. I needed to charm it away from Mother. The less she knows about anything, the better.” He said tapping the stone making the glow fade. He held your hands and looked at you more serious now.
“I don’t want you to learn magic from my mother.” He blurted out. You couldn’t help but chuckle at his protectiveness.
“Don’t worry.” You said smiling. “I know better than to trust your mother. Plus I am still not sure I want to be corrupted by witchcraft. If anything, I want to use it to become a better hunter, but I know it is a slippery slope.” That really was the truth. You didn’t want to become corrupt like Rowena.
“I can help you with some basics.” He said taking your hand and leading you out of the garage. “Though I wouldn’t say no to a little corruption.” His sultry wrinkled eyes looked at you and winked, causing you to roll your eyes and laugh with love. It was nice having things a somewhat back to normal. Well, as normal as they were going to be for you.
When you both walked back into the library you found the boys working on tracking down where North Star Creek was located. Both of them had pretty peeved expressions on their faces. Crowley pulled out a chair for you and you sat with the boys.
“What’s with the sour mugs?” You asked with a dopey grin. Having your demon back made you entirely too happy. Crowley placed his hands on your shoulders, his warmth seeping to your core. Sam looked up and gave a small smile , enjoying that you were happy. Dean on the other hand didn’t look up from the knife he was sharpening.
“The wicked bitch of the west took off.” When he finished his sentence he looked up and saw you laying your head on Crowley’s hand. “Ah I see the love birds are back together.” He let out a small chuckle.
“Yeah,” You said a little distracted. “What do you mean she is gone and please tell me we still have the book?” Sam looked up at you a little worried about what he was going to tell you. Sam pulled the book out of his back pocket to show it was safe.
“She argued with us about her training you and when we said no, she took off. However, she did leave you this.” He reached over to the far side of the table and grabbed a small wooden box and a note. You lifted the lid on the box and found a simple ring made of the same stone you had held earlier when doing the spell. You set the box down and read. Crowley stiffening behind you as he read over your shoulder. Rowena said that when and if you decided to be trained by the greatest witch in the world, to use the ring and you will be able to find her. You folded up the note and placed it in the box.
“Don’t worry.” You said squeezing Crowley’s hand and looking at the boys. “I don’t plan on seeking her out. We have bigger fish to fry.” You gave your brothers a reassuring smile which made both of them relax a little. “So have we found where this place is yet?” You asked reaching across the table and stealing Dean’s half-drunk beer, which earned you an evil eye and him sticking his tongue out at you.
“Actually yeah we have. It looks like it is located in Washington State.” Sam said turning his lap top around to show you. You noticed that there were no roads on the map to the location.
“It looks like it is in the middle of nowhere.” You said looking at him confused.
“It pretty much is. We are going to have to hike in.” Sam said turning his computer back around to start searching motels in the area. You couldn’t help but get a little excited when you found out that you guys were going to have to go to Washington again. You looked up at Crowley and could see the slight sour expression on his face at the idea of having to traipse through the woods. Chuckling to yourself, you looked back to the boys, a plan forming in your happy mind.
“That place is pretty close to Seattle isn’t it?” You asked excitedly, as you began to piece together the side trip you were going to talk the boys into taking. Putting your plan into action, you got up from your chair and walked towards Dean.
“Uh yeah, I think so.” Sam said with a questioning brow as he watched. He knew where your head was at.
“They have some great breweries.” You said in a sing song voice, draping your arm over Dean’s shoulder. He couldn’t help but perk up at your not so subtle proposal.
“Maybe we can take a couple extra days.” He said nonchalant, leaning back in his chair. You had him, Dean can’t pass up a good craft beer.
