I'm not actively reading this comic but I read this issue out of curiosity and I really like the Radioactive Man. For normal reasons.
Mortal Thor V1 #9
2007's Civil War: The Initiative Vol.1 #1 page 22. Script by Warren Ellis, art by Marc Silvestri, inks by Joe Weems, Marco Galli & Rick Basaldua, colors by Frank D'Armata and lettering by Troy Peteri.
I love it if for a season skaters had to choose music from their country. Country quotas do a decent job of keeping the sport feeling fairly international, but when you look at program music, it's very anglo/western centric. I get it's to appeal to international judges and audiences but more musical representation and diversity would be cool.
Personally, I eat up cultural programs like Karina Akopova/Nikita Rakhmanin's Artsakh, Oleksandra Nazarova/Maksym Nikitin's 1944/Ой, у лузі червона калина, Koreans doing Arirang/Taegukgi, Chen Lu and Karen Chen doing Butterfly Lovers, Jewish skaters doing Schindler's List, etc. But even the more modern stuff like Jun's Not a Dream, Misha's Diva Dance, and Alysa's MacArthur Park had that extra oomf to it.
It'd also be nice to hear international music that most people wouldn't be exposed to otherwise! I love Li Yuhsiang, Kyrylo Marsak, and Loena Hendrickx (rip), and it would be cool to see them skate to Taiwanese / Ukrainian / Belgian music that they love and connect to (Misha's Diva Dance was the prime example of this.) I think it would be a nice way for skaters to show their culture to the World and a nice way for fans to better understand that culture and connect to their favs.
