hello 2026, goodbye 2025!!
to celebrate here's some of my favorite art pieces from this year:
@char-char-f0x @thatoneweirdo0 @zoe146784 @mangoggle @d1sapp01ntm3nt yall are so cool, happy new years gang :D 🎉
here are the fixed versions of two, steve and cherry
have you ever thought about reaching out to cherry? maybe not in school but like outside of that? yall understood one another real well that night at the drive in!
"Cherry is a might fine girl. She was real nice to me 'nd Johnny Cakes. 'Nd she got a good head on her shoulders, she's a smart girl,"
"But ain't nothin' the same as it was that night."
"It's been a while since we last talked. A few months, I think. Didn't say much to me when she came to drop off Johnny's things, I don't think. But, even if she did-- I don't think I'd remember."
"Maybe when we're older. When I'm outta Tulsa, 'nd she's some successful businesswoman somewhere. When we ain't kids anymore, 'nd everything makes more sense."
"She ain't ever gonna look at me the same. 'Nd I made my peace with that."

me and my outsiders mug against the world
I like that Diane Lane, the actress who plays Cherry in the movie sees Cherry as flawed. She says of her that she stands up to bullies but allows herself to be claimed by the meanest of all. That she is defined by the toxic socio- economical limitations of of her class and gender, and yet she carves out a little niche of her own and maybe even getting a little rush of adrenaline by playing messenger and spy for the testosterone-driven pecking order of her narrow teenage experience. What drives Cherry? Is she only virtue-signaling? She doesn't seem to be an inherently a bad person. She is limited by her own experiences and perceptions. She steps up to the line. But she doesn't cross it.
Cherrycola au where they’re dating secretly during the events of the book, so when she meets Ponyboy at the drive-in and he starts talking about Soda, she’s giggling and kicking her feet on the inside the entire time.
