I enjoy Chris Spargo's youtube videos a lot but sometimes his choices of thumbnail and title really make them look like cinematic adaptations of furious letters to the Daily Telegraph editor.

I know I'm unfortunately british now (no matter what my official citizenship status says) bc he said you could customise the bin when you order it and I unironically went ":o that's amazing :D"
After watching this video I have learned that the answer to "Why did [movie/tv show/game] not put an epilepsy warning for flashing lights?" is "because there's no good, consistent way to test for that"
the fact that chris spargo is now doing pretty good n well-researched tom scott-esque videos is so crazy 2 me bcuz i subbed 2 him when he did this one rlly cool touch tone telephone music video. like what how is he this good across the board
Im absolutely baffled. You know those wipes that lie on the packaging about being flushable? Well the U.K. had an answer to this problem. In 2019, the 'Fine to Flush' campaign, which implemented a standard created by the water industry to allow companies to put water Industry approved Fine to Flush labels on their packaging.
But then, in 2024, the campaign just stopped...? Apparently, since the label was voluntary—i.e. not mandatory—it was causing confusion for consumers, who might get confused and think all wipes were fine to flush. And the label couldn't be mandatory because, "Things like medical wipes, makeup wipes, etc have to be more durable to work".
WHY DID THEY NOT MAKE A 'BIN ONLY' LABEL AS WELL THEN!?!?!?!? But no, apparently society can't have nice things like clear labeling, at least not in the U.K.—who's new solution is to basically just say, 'throw away all wipes' while simultaneously banning plastic-based wipes (which is even more confusing to the consumers imo).

If I had a nickel for every time I saw a conspiracy theorist doing a camp-gay dance routine, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
