元々「Jazz Guitarist」ってタイトルだったもののリイシュー。二人のレスター派のテナーがフィーチャーされてます。12曲中、A面4曲がムーア、B面4曲がズート。このムーアって人がクセモノで好きです。
内容は思っ切りトリスターノ系のクールジャズですが、このウェインて人、無駄に速弾きピッキングが上手くて、ジョニー・スミスやジャック・ウィルキンスを思い出しました(笑) ま、でも、彼等よりかはフレーズもセンスが有って、結構面白い事してると思うので僕は好きですけどねー。まぁ、嫌味もあるから嫌いって言う人多そうな気もするけど。
曲やアレンジも凝ってて、ヴァンゲルダーの録音も割と良いし、悪くないと思います。ただ、スミスのアルバムでのゲッツのハイテク・ソロみたいなのは無いのでインパクトには欠けるかも。
