Don’t play with me like that Cassandra
I love Emma's relationship with Jace and Clary so much. Emma really, really treasures it.
She calls them 'the people who held her hands during the toughest time of her life'. She and Julian trust them to be on their side. Twelve year old her decides they are the ones worth being given information about their brother and enemy. She thinks her talks with Clary are the one thing that's hers, specifically.
Her idolization for and crush on Jace have faded to such a beautiful friendship. She hates giving up the stele he gave her to the Phouka - like this is compared to Julian giving up his dad's old watch. Jace has a photo of her on his phone he can pull up whenever he wants. Clary told her and ONLY her she thought she was going to die. She mentions always wanting to go on a flying motocycle because they have once.
No, I am not going to stop thinking about it.
Emma is so going to be the godmother and fun aunt to the Clace kids. I can just imagine her showing them Cortana and them going 'ooh, shiny!' and then badgering their parents for weapons. She and Izzy and Rebecca and Maia - and you know what, let's throw Lily in too - will be bridesmaids for Clary in her wedding, and no, I will not hear anything against this. The Lightwood-Bane-Herondale-Fairchild-Blackthorn-Rosales-Carstairs-Gray family will live on.
At least, the Clace fans have it coming :)
if CC doesn’t put a happily ever after on clace god better help her because I’ll come for her ass
Clace Headcanons
These are just some post COHF Headcanons:
Clary loves it when Jace plays piano. She could just sit there for hours with her head on his shoulder listening to him play.
When they finally move in together, Jace is always super neat and tidy while Clary is just an artistic mess that drives him crazy but he love spending everyday with her and waking up next to her.
When one of them are away on Clave business, they text each other constantly and call every night before bed. They are always so excited to see the other when they return even if they were only gone a day.
Jace is made fun of constantly by his family for the weapons shopping date.
They get dinner every Sunday night, sometimes malec or sizzy will come too but it is mostly just them. Usually when they get back to the institute they will curl up on the couch and watch a movie.
Every year on Jace’s Birthday they make spaghetti because it is his favorite but also in reminder of the spaghetti bath.
Jace and Clary’s house is filled with painting by both Jocelyn and Clary. Many of them depict their friends and family.
The Clace wedding is the event of the century, literally, it is talked about for CENTURIES! No one really knows what happened but there was a lot of people there and it was definitely a fun night.
Luke walks Clary down the aisle.
Most importantly, they live mostly happy normal lives after COHF, well, as normal as life could be when you are a Shadowhunter!
I want a clace wedding and I want it now damnit

“That’s beautiful, Jace.” Clary wipes tears from her eyes as Jace settles his hands off the ivory piano keys. “Did you write that yourself?”
Jace nods, smiling softly. “I wrote it for you, Clary. You’re my inspiration.”
Clary rests her head on his shoulder. “Cheese-ball.” She teases, though she secretly loves it when he’s sweet and cheesy. And he knows it.
“I meant to do this smoother, more….drawn out….but.” Jace shrugs. “I really just can’t wait any longer.”
Jace stands up, and drags Clary along with him, off the piano bench. “What are you--”
He sinks to his knees in front of her.
Clary’s heart starts racing. “Jace?”
He only grins, and from his pocket, produces a small velvet box. “Usually,” He murmurs, his eyes burning holes in hers. “Shadowhunters don’t purpose, and they don’t wear engagement rings. But I figured that you’d prefer the mundane style,” he chuckles.
“Jace…” Clary swallows, her heart beating a thousand beats per second.
“Shh. Let me do it right.” He scolds happily. He takes in a deep breath. “Clary. I love you. I’ve loved you since I first saw you in Pandemonium, and I will continue to love you as long as you let me. And then longer.” He takes Clary’s hands in his, watching her reactions. “I want to grow old with you, Clary.” He murmurs. “I want us to be sitting on a white porch somewhere, surrounded by children and grandchildren and great grandchildren, and I want us to still be madly in love, even with all my tattoo’s looking saggy and wrong, because my skin will be wrinkled. I promise I’ll love you, even if you smell like prunes and need sponge baths and shake your cane at kids who blast their music too loud.” They both chuckle at that, and Jace grows serious. “I want you, Clarissa Fairchild, forever. And I want you all to myself, forever. I want to introduce you as my wife, to introduce you as the love of my existence. I want other guys to look at my ring on your finger and know that you’re mine, and only mine.”
Clary gasps a very small gasp.
“Clary, I’m not asking—I’m telling. Marry me.”
Clary’s breath hitches, though she knew what was happening. A million different things Clary could have said, a thousand lovely words could have dripped off her tongue, could have gushed out like Niagara falls. And yet, what really came out, was one, shaky word, barely audible.
“Okay.”
Jace blinks at her, as if he expected her to say no. Then he kisses her ring finger on her left hand, before sliding on the engagement ring. He stands on his feet, and scoops her up, laughing with exhilaration and swinging her around. When he sets her down, he’s still laughing, and it’s contagious, so Clary joins, until they’re both giggling like a set of giddy children.
Jace lowers his voice to Clary’s ear, husky and deep. “I cannot wait to make you undeniably mine.”
And Clary couldn’t wait to be undeniably his.
