You watch silently as the quiet whisking of cream echoes in the silent kitchen. It was close to 3am, yet both you and the Trancy butler were wide awake. One would assume you two were up to some... um inappropriate behaviour. It was quite late after all. But contrary to popular belief, Claude was not always up to nefarious actions. Sometimes, it's the simple day to day activities that would end up gaining his interest. Like crocheting in the garden with a cup of tea long after the master of the manor had gone to bed. Or other times, tending to the garden, maybe even a game of chess against himself...

The clinking of bottles provided the perfect ambience as he mixes various different ingredients in an attempt to rid out the taste of lemon. He's a bit of a perfectionist. So, when he accidentally added a tad bit too much, while chatting with you, he became hell bent on fixing it. Yes, it is almost unnoticeable, the lemony touch, but he refuses to let it go. So, you sit there all quiet and pretty in your knee length nightgown, your legs swinging back and forth as you try not to laugh at his apron. His eyebrows furrowed as he focused, with an intimidating glare in his eyes. Yet you could hardly feel yourself scared when looking at him due to his attire. A small white bandana holding his hair back from his face, makes him look….funny. Not that you’d ever admit it. You swallow a chuckle at his attire. Not wanting to distract him anymore. Pfft, you weren't sure how much more teasing he'd tolerate from you.

For all his indulgence in meaningless human activities, he never once thought he would be sharing these moments with another. To demons, said activities are useless after all. No need for said food, and even if needed, there was no need to craft it himself. Yet he does. Perhaps he even seeks it for his own enjoyment. That would explain his insistence on perfecting his baking techniques... Yes, this late at night, because when special interests arise who's to stop him? Who with the authority to hold him back anyways. But perhaps he yearns for someone to share it with.... That would explain his lack of irritation towards you when he accidentally added a bit too much of an ingredient. Getting carried away when listening to you was quickly becoming one of his worst traits.

However, as you struggle to stifle a yawn as your teary eyes forbid you from staying awake any longer. Vision becoming blurry but just as you were about to cave to your slumber. His voice rings out. "That seems about right. Here, try it." Before your eyes have even opened properly, he's shoving his index and middle finger inside your mouth. The tips of his gloved fingers covered in a small sample of the cream he just prepared. You gag and immediately hold his wrist in weak protest. But his glare quickly stops any intention to push him away. Eyebrows raised as if daring you to stop him. He knows you won't though. "Go on, tell me what you think." Swirling your tongue around to taste the whipping cream about to be used, you watch a small grin creep onto his face. Your eyes roll back to your head with a quiet groan. It actually tasted quite nice. If he could be arsed to, guests would flock to the Trancy manor to taste his pastries.... As you mull over the thought of advertising his cooking to your friends and family, his eyes begin to dart to the newly whipped cream, and then back at you. Low lidded eyes suddenly glowing as he watches you. Perhaps he won't reserve it for the croissant, his mind quickly finding a new better use for his newly prepared assortment. "So? Don't tell me you've forgotten the task at hand already... Well, that's a shame I thought I taught you better."

- Claude always has a mental list of fun, "get out and do something together" ideas at the ready to take your mind off things, provided it's nothing TOO serious that's bothering you. He's pretty good at reading your mood at this point, so generally he can tell if you're up for something adventurous, or if you just need a stroll through the market or around the Monastery grounds. Or maybe you just need time alone together for him to hold you and make small talk to sooth you with his voice. It's all the same for him as long as he can help lift you up, so he's more than happy to cater your day together to what you need most.

- He seems like such a carefree type that those who don't know him well might not expect it, but Claude is fully capable of grounding himself and taking things seriously when you need him to meet you where you're at. He can help to some extent when you need to let go and relax- that's the easy part. But Claude also realizes that sometimes, he needs to come to you, and he would never ask you to change for him. So if your mindset is in a more difficult place, he'll sit with you and meet you with a steady, earnest look in his eyes and tell you that he's here, and he's ready to listen and do anything he can to help.

- If you're really beating yourself up over something, his initial goal is to stop you from spiralling too far into this mood. He'll have you sit with him, or on his lap if you're comfortable with it, then take your hand in his and softly try to calm you down a bit- "Hey, c'mon, look at me. That's right babe, I'm right here, let's talk, yeah?"

- Fortunately, Claude is the type who is both clever and emotionally intelligent, so while he'll try to help you reason through your mood, he'll never lose sight of the fact that feelings are feelings, and they're nothing to be ashamed of. In a way, he can genuinely empathize; he knows he comes across very lighthearted, but he has never been without the feeling of responsibility he carries with him, and the weight of what he aims to accomplish with his life. In the end, he'll rest his hand warm at your cheek and remind you with a smile that you're there to support one another, and that neither of you has to face your burdens alone.

- When you do just need to lighten up though, in his opinion, there's nothing better than spending an afternoon flying together. Sitting in front of him on his wyvern with his arm around your waist and the warmth of his laughter behind you makes it easy to forget all of your worries- as though you left them on the ground when you took off to the skies with him.

I had a lot of fun writing these, Anon! I will admit for your entertainment that I don’t know the next thing about music, so I almost referred to Claude’s sitar as a ‘scyther’ before realising I was thinking of the pokemon 💙

Dimitri:

I can picture Dimitri hearing a violin in the distance and being intrigued enough to get closer.

Then he would see you, playing as you stand on a lonely terrace with your hair gently blowing in the wind, and would be completely smitten. 

Noticing you are no longer alone, you would stop and turn around, the both of you completely freezing when you lock eyes with each other.

“M-My apologies! I should not have been staring. But I must say, your skills are impressive! I don’t think I’ve ever heard music this pleasant here at the monastery.”

You want to run away but he’s blocking the only exit. You mumble something and shyly point in his direction, the confidence you showed while playing now completely gone.

When he realises what you mean, he awkwardly steps aside, apologising again as you quickly fast-walk past.

That night, he visits your room to give back something that you dropped in your escape and apologise again. 

He’s surprised to see you have a piano in there as well. You do love music, so a conversation eventually sparks, and you slowly begin to open up to him.

Dimitri confesses that all his music teachers gave up on him as a child, as he was completely useless with anything needing him to have fine motor control of his fingers. 

You highlight that you have heard him sing in the choir, and he admits that he does put a lot of effort in his singing, even if only to make up for his lack of other talents.

Suddenly, you are overcome with the need to know what he sounds like on his own. He is embarrassed, but he agrees to sing for you, if you will play the piano.

You are both stiff and nervous at first, but soon enough, the music starts flowing well and the melody you make together is beautiful.

When you finish, Dimitri is so overcome by emotion that he has to give a quick apology and make a quick escape out of your room.

That night, for once, his dreams are not plagued by nightmares, but full of beautiful music instead.

Claude: 

Claude is musically gifted as well, and he’s not really shy about it, but he’d rather not reveal much about himself if he can help it, so not a lot of people would know.

He’s a little mischievous, so if your rooms shared a wall and he could hear your voice and music through it... he would not let you know.

He would love laying in bed to hear you sing, or doing his homework to the calming sound of your piano playing in the background.

One day, however, the hour comes and he can’t hear a thing. Worried, he would knock on your door with an excuse.

He notices right away that today must be a rough day for you. He points at your piano and pretends he has not seen one before.

Confused, you try to explain that it’s a very common musical instrument in Fódlan, and find that talking about music starts to lift your spirits a little just as he had planned.

“Sounds interesting. Can I give it a try?”

It’s not the best idea to let a complete beginner have a go at your finely tuned precious instrument, but Claude is incredibly charming, and you really need some distraction today.

When he sits down at the piano, he lays a finger on a key and turns to you in mock surprise, as if he didn’t expect it to make that sound at all. 

Seeing it gets a chuckle out of you, he goes on with his skit, until you finally break into laughter. 

“You do know how to play piano!”

Claude laughs too and admits to his crime, although he does note that he’s much better with a sitar.

By the time you’ve finished playing and singing together, the worries that haunted you earlier that day feel like a distant echo of the past.

Hoo boy, I adore Claude, but to be honest he’d be one bitch of a yandere.

He’s the text-book definition of a manipulative. He’s tactical, cunning, patient and oh so charming; a dangerous concoction when mixed with obsessive infatuation.

He’ll be extremely flirtatious and suggestive, assaulting you with a barrage of dirty jokes and innuendos until your cheeks are burning and you’ve been reduced to a stuttering mess.

But of course, every quip is accompanied with a lighthearted tone and a sly wink. This makes the authenticity of his words uncertain - he’s known for being mischievous, right? So what if this is just how he is around everyone? It’s not like you’re special or anything. Claude uses his reputation and knack for strategic thinking to get the upper hand; he’ll make you doubt yourself, make it seem like your the one hopelessly head-over-heels.

Claude will condition you to crave his authentic affection and praise. After a session of flirtatious banter, he’ll lower his tone and look you straight in the eye;

“You’re so beautiful, (y/n).”

You’ll find your breath hitching, your heart skipping a beat. After he’s shot you a smile and turned away, he’ll be completely content knowing that your just losing your shit. Claude , the Claude, called you beautiful? He sounded serious, so he must be for real? You’ll suffer, overthinking every annunciation of his words, finding any hint of deception or mockery.

Of course Claude means it though. He means everything. But you can’t know that. Sabotaging the battlefield is one of Claude’s favorite tactics after all.

After giving you those delicious crumbs of affection, he’ll make sure to withdraw for awhile. It pains him to avoid you, but he knows it’s a sacrifice he has to make. When he finally approaches you again, you’ll be so adorably desperate! You’ll worry so much, does he hate you? Why is he ignoring you all of a sudden? Did you do something wrong?

He’ll tightly embrace you, savoring that sweet flustered expression on your face. He’ll reassure you so kindly, but he’ll keep shaking your self confidence, making you seem like a desperate mess for him.

“Oh, I’m so sorry (Y/n)! I never meant to worry you, I’ve just been so busy, ya’know? But if you missed me that much, I’m sure I can make a better effort.”

Claude will make sure to be there during your most vulnerable times. Your just so malleable, and he’ll be there to comfort you - to condition you.

He wants you to be emotionally dependent on him, to crave him as much as he craves you.

He may just very well be the mastermind behind the tragedies that send you into such a distraught state. Were you demoted, or worse, fired? There was a rumor you were stealing the supplies, you say? That’s just horrible.

Claude is a pro at keeping his calm composure, and hiding his true feelings. But man does this boy get jealous. He’ll lace every word against any one he deems competition with venom. Every sentence he spews is just crawling with underlying insults and passive aggression.

If he deems things to have gone too far, he’s not afraid to get directly aggressive.

We know he’s a master at mixing poisons. Expect potential romantic rivals, hell even overbearing relatives, to fall dangerously ill. Whether he decides to permanently remove them from the picture or not, is really up to how merciful he’s feeling.

If he feels extremely slighted, however, his composure snaps. If he sees another person kiss you, expect chaos. Sometimes he’ll be so overcome with rage that he’ll pummel them into the ground right there. Other times, he may be more methodical with his retribution. He’ll consider them lucky if they get an arrow with a hotly worded warning on their front door, instead of through their head. But what can he say, sometimes he’s not so forgiving.

When he finally takes things to the next level, he’s ensured victory from just how well he’s trained you.

If he ever senses even a hint of doubt from you, any clue that your thinking of leaving him, he’ll emotionally wreck you.

He’ll gaslight you, tell you how damn lucky you are for him to settle for you. He’ll remind you of all the times he’s been there for you, how much he’s done for you. How your nothing without him.

Saying all these hurtful things pains him so much, he just wants your unconditional love, is that so hard? But he’ll consider it all worth it when you’re sobbing into his chest, spouting apologies and begging for his forgiveness. Totally submissive, totally his.

“It’s fine honey, I forgive you. But never even think about leaving me, okay?”

ok now i’m going to talk about claude von reigan and his character trait of believing in human potential . 

to get out of the way , claude is a shrewd and calculating person . it’s how he’s had to survive . he’s never been considered on par with the new world he’s been thrust into . he’s been very open that he considers himself an outsider . he puts himself in this . . . layer of distance , of protection . because he’s always observing and you can see the best from the outside . but you’d learn even better working from the inside . so going to the monastery makes the most sense for his goals . 

and while he is shrewd and calculating , always fabricating stories and lies , knowing how to spin his words to make you THINK you know him but then , never enough . and while he’ll say WYLIN shit for purposes of keeping people on their guard, throwing them off , seeing reactions etc etc . . . claude is a man of the people . 

he can UNDERSTAND the people because , really , he sees himself as the people . while he has a crest and the lineage is there . . . nobility is not his calling , nor is divinity . but he understands people and how they work and what they need to be motivated because having to learn all that was necessary for him to be one step ahead . 

but while that’s true , i think through observing and watching people he’s grown to love them and want better for them , and want better for the people he calls friends . i say this because claude is very charming . out of all the house leaders , his TO BATTLE scene is him simply extending his arm and then everyone goes . do you know how much faith , trust , authority , and SOCIAL POWER is needed to get an entire army to read your energies and know what you want without saying a word ? 

and that’s because Claude believes in people . in his supports he knows and learns about his house mates with a fierce quickness that to some , is scary . because it’s like - what is your angle. what are you getting at. 

but with claude it’s because he wants his house to be the best . so he wants to encourage them to be their best selves . to shatter their limits . to reach their potentials . it’s so raw and it’s so real . because let’s face it IF ANY OF THOSE HOUSE MEMBERS OF GOLDEN DEER thought claude wasn’t a man to put their faith or trust in they WOULDN’T . period. they would leave him and go but they don’t. they haven’t. 

he doesn’t believe in god’s because he can’t see their growth, or their heart . but he believes in the power of people. their limitations and their miracles. and that’s so . . . beautiful to me. to see a man of color fight so hard to make the people around him better - even if his methods to do so aren’t the most straight and narrow .

Bonus! Ashe: Ashe is such a gentle soul, he barely even notices your size. He just thinks that you’re the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen and if you have a little extra weight??? Well, he’s only bothered if you’re bothered by it.

Headcanons on what Sebastian and claude would do if they both take romantic interest in the same person?

Sebastian, Claude:

At first it may all seem like fun, innocent game but you should be aware that there will be literal war going on between those two demons, while they will be fighting over your attention. Obviously, none of them will even try to keep you being oblivious about what is going on around you and so they will make sure that you know about their affection, just in case there will be a situation when you will have to chose one of them, that is why you should be cautious and attentive, noticing all their movements.

From the beginning, Sebastian will act as if it doesn’t bother him in the slighest or even as if he is not willing to participate in this conquest, however, it will be caused simply by the fact that he won’t want to believe that someone like Claude could actually have a chance in winning your heart. He will remain in a state of denial but will slowly develop a competitive spirit, most likely after noticing that his enemy was taking it as an opportunity to get closer to you. Still, he won’t act as if he feels endangered by his presence, no matter that in truth he probably should be - being too indifferent toward you wouldn’t bring him victory, after all, just as acting as if he has everything under control.

As much as Sebastian would want to be this way, Claude will be the one to act rather rationally and calmly take further steps in his plan of having you all to himself, really not bothered by the second demon. He won’t push you too much nor demand a lot from you, giving you time and space, thinking that this way he will certainly appear as a better one than Sebastian who, unlike him, will surely start alluring you by showing how great partner material he is. Claude’s method would be probably more successful at the beginning but later then he will realize that underestimating Sebastian’s charming skills is a huge mistake.

They will avoid times when there will be you three together, even if for a single moment. Such situations will only bring a lot of anger from them both and if it will ever happen, you yourself will most likely be the one to want to prevent any further meetings of this sort, since there will be nothing more than passive aggressive insulting each other.

“What a lovely necklace you are wearing, my dear, is that possibly a gift from Mr. Faustus?”

“Yes, indeed, I bought it from a very unique seller specially for her since only such rare jewerly perfectly matches the colour of her eyes, just like none other.”

“Why, of course, I have no doubt it is a particular piece of gold, especially because I am almost certain I have accidentally noticed you buying it on a flea market last week.”

“Shall I start to worry not only about your sight but also your well beings? I had no idea that you attend to such places.”

However, when you won’t be around things may start to differ and take an unpredictable turn out of events. They probably won’t use force on each other unless given a serious reason for but they also won’t have to control their demonic sides which leaves them unlimited possibilities of what could they do. Still, they both would rather prefer to avoid each other and focus rather on you but if there will ever happen something where one of them will accidentally hurt your feelings or make you feel bad, then the second one won’t hesitate to pay him a visit and (figuratively or not) punch him right in the face only to later take an opportunity of this event and lure you into getting more and more distant from his enemy. They are both nothing more but patient predators, always ready to attack, waiting for the rival to slip up.

The result of such complex situation is absolutely unpredictable and will depend both on your behaviour and the level of their affection toward you. They can either try fighting for life and death for you, try to steal you from one another, set you against the second one or - in the worst possible scenario - kill you to solve this conflict and never step upon each other again, although such solution will most likely result in eventual encounter. There is no good advice to how act while being put inside such conflict but if you will eventually chose one of them and openly admit it to him, he will protect you with his whole self, that is why waiting and delaying the decision will only make it worse and harder to solve.
