Was sitting here thinking of potentially writing a clone wars fic about Ponds and was thinking maybe I don't want Ponds and Mace to have a romantic relationship, like not every clone commander is in love with their jedi, and then I saw one (1) picture of Mace and Ponds and went nvm they're definitely something.
Before the war, and Cody has to run an errand, leaving his batchmates home alone:
Cody: I left instructions for everyone while I'm gone.
Fox: Mine just says "Fox, no."
Cody: I want you to apply it to every possible situation.
Summary: There's only one person Alpha would go to such lengths for. And it was you.
Characters: Alpha-17, brief appearances by Obi-Wan, Cody, Fox and Wolffe
Pairings: Alpha-17 x GN!reader
"Oh come on, it's not that bad. There were so many others I could have picked!" you giggled, glancing in the mirror to see behind you. It was hilarious. You wish you could take a holo just to capture how grumpy Alpha looked.
The red sweater clung to his broad chest, his wide shoulders stretching the fabric obscenely, his arm muscles threatening to tear the threads. But what completed the picture was the the pure, unadulterated loathing on his face as he stared down at the jumper. His brow was furrowed, a scowl set heavy on his face, making his scars more pronounced. If looks could kill, then the jumper would be a smoking mess on the floor.
"Worse? I look like a walking kriffing cliche!" he grumbled, pulling at the sleeve slightly so it sat more comfortably on his arm.
"It's tradition to wear a corny jumper on Life Day!" you reminded him, before sighing and turning around to face him. "But, if you want to take it off, then you can" you shrugged, watching as the ARC trooper stilled.
"I know exactly what you're doing, mesh'la!" he warned, stalking forward until he was standing in front of you. He poked a finger into your forehead, making you grin up at him. "Besides, yours looks normal!" he grumbled, glancing down at your own jumper.
It did indeed look normal compared to his. Just a picture of a decorated Life Day tree.
"It was the only one they had left!" you defended yourself, turning to look back at the mirror to try and hide your devious smile. It most certainly wasn't, but you weren't going to tell Alpha-17 that.
Alpha let out a loud snort before shaking his head. You were a terrible liar. He shouldn't find it as attractive as it was, but hey, he was a simple man.
"You're trouble!" he warned, pulling at the tight jumper once more.
"I know, but that's what you love about me!" you smirked, turning to send him a cheeky look.
The GAR Life Day party was in full swing when you arrived, hand tucked safely into the crook of Alpha's massive arm. There was so many clones and their loved ones, Jedi and GAR officials filling the room. It was so heart-warming to see so many people loving and celebrating with the clones. A band was playing on the stage, music filling the room, a buffet table was laid out towards the back, the bar fully stocked and ready for a wild night. Strobe lighting was flickering around the room and you couldn't help but feel excitement buzzing through you.
"I have to hand it to you, you and your brothers sure know how to throw a party" you murmured, taking everything in. You squeezed his arm, feeling him leading you towards the back of the room.
"We'll see how you feel when I'm the one carrying you home" Alpha remarked dryly, eyes dancing in amusement. He was looking forward to ending the night with you in his arms as he took care of you.
"I know, I know. Come on, I think I can see Ashoka doing shots!" you rolled your eyes, trying to tug him towards your friend.
However, before you could get too far, your path was blocked by familiar red hair, dancing blue eyes and an amused smile. Next to Obi-Wan was Commander Cody, both dressed remarkably well and matching subtly with golden threads running through their clothes. 212th gold if you weren't mistaken.
"Well, you certainly can't miss them, darling" Obi-Wan drawled, glancing downwards before returning to meet Alpha's rapidly turning red face.
"Kenobi!" Alpha hissed, drawing his arms against his bulky chest.
You, however, was cackling at Obi-Wan's greeting. Even Cody looked amused but was hiding it well, lest he have the full force of Alpha's scowl turned upon him. Tugging at Alpha's arms to stop him obscuring his jumper, you flashed Obi-Wan a playful smirk. It didn't escape your knowledge that you were only able to move them because Alpha allowed it. The glaring white words of 'DO MY BAUBLES LOOK BIG IN THIS?" was spread across Alpha's massive chest.
"Can't take you anywhere General. Excuse us, I'm going to get him some water. Nice jumper Captain" Cody excused, before sending you a playful wink.
Alpha huffed, taking your hand in his and storming over to the back of the room where he could find a moment of peace.
"Thank you for wearing it, love. You don't actually have to you know, you can take it off" you said gently, not wanting to embarrass him even further.
Surprisingly, Alpha just grunted and shook his head. "You brought it for me. Kriff everyone else!" he said simply. And that was that. He wasn't going to take it off, even if his brothers teased him. The smile that had lit up your face when you had given him the jumper was worth a lifetime of embarrassment if it meant he could see you happy.
Ducking your head, you couldn't help but feel your heart swell for your love. The way he said it so simply. Like nothing else would change his mind lit up warmth in your whole body. You had never experienced the love that came so easily between you two before, it sometimes knocked the wind out of you to see his easy affection and devotion to you.
"Alright then, I'm going to get us some drinks. Don't go anywhere" you bid, leaning up to press a kiss to his scarred face.
Alpha spotted the smirks plastered on Wolffe's and Fox's face nearby, as he bent down so you could press a kiss to his cheek before going to get drinks for you both. He didn't take his eyes off the amused pair. As soon as you were gone, he stalked towards them. "Not a word about this! Or you'll be running suicide runs around the GAR barracks. Twice" Alpha threatened lowly, turning to them.
"Hmm, I don't think he can order us around anymore, do you Fox? The war is over" Wolffe remarked, his normally stern tone taking on a playful edge.
"I agree Wolffe. Besides, he's not nearly as intimidating as he thinks wearing that!" Fox nodded, sipping from his glass and running his eyes up and down Alpha's outfit.
Alpha growled lowly and took a step forward. "Wanna bet?" he hissed out, watching as both Fox and Wolffe scrambled to get out of his way.
"What was all that about?" you wondered, coming back over with both of your drinks in hand. Placing one in Alpha's hand made the glass look comically small, as though you'd passed him a child's cup.
"Just reminding those di'kuts who trained them" Alpha murmured, wrapping an arm around your waist and pulling you closer. He took in the smell of your shampoo and let out a small breath, relaxing slightly.
Chuckling at his behaviour, you pressed a kiss to his pec, just next to the large snowflake on the jumper. "Well, anyway, we haven't got the worse jumpers! I saw Bly and Aayla wearing matching ones. And Bly looked like he was going to puke sunshine. It's disgusting. Want to see?" you grinned, nodding over to the other side of the room.
Alpha smirked, reminded once more of why he loved you. "Lead the way, mesh'la!" he nodded, taking your hand.

Okay, this is what I thought of when picturing Alpha's jumper.
Ponds is the oldest- even as an infant he instinctually felt responsible for taking care of all of his brothers, so was ready for extraction early.
Cody came next, 2 days after. After Ponds died, he became the head of the family.
Bly and Wolffe were twins, and came out a week after Cody. They're the trouble-making middle children.
Fox is the youngest child and a very late bloomer. He was extracted 4 weeks after Ponds.
Ponds and Fox were very close. It is said by the kaminoans that before Fox was ready to come out, Ponds would insist on sitting next to his tube, waiting for him.
Rex was part of a different batch altogether, but he would watch the CB from afar and long to be with them. He was eventually adopted in by Cody and Ponds who couldn't resist. They consider him a batchmate despite the age difference
