Thought #181: Vision of Another Kind
Today, I just realized my friend is a huge/popular blogger. Not only that, but she cusses more than she lets on. I found it quite interesting and odd at the same time. It's weird how people hide such huge parts of their life away from you so well that you would hardly even know who they are truly. Now I am not saying this relating to my friend, but just in general.
I think lack of compassion is sourced from a lack of understanding. If you understand, you then can empathize with others.
And that's the problem with the world. They don't understand because they are selfish creatures. We would love to blame it on apathy, but we all know that apathy is only there because we are too focused on our selves to help others (whether that be emotionally, physically, or spiritually.)
That's the reason why people give me crap a lot of the time. They think I can take it. I try to (and I work on it) but I kind of break a little more inside. If they would look at my situation or the microscopic cracks in my frame, they'd see a building that wasn't stable at all.
Superman was known fr his x-ray vision. I have vision of another kind. It's called "person vision"; where I see everyone has a flaw within them (even myself). Human nature is naturally flawed. We all have imperfections. It's seeing through the front they put up into their actual being that makes a difference and in the end makes you a lot more accommodating of how they feel.
Don't just see the school jock for what he merely plays, but for the fact he had an abusive father. Don't just see the valedictorian of your school as a 'know-it-all' but as a addict on meth. There are people like this out there (as weird as it may seem), and while it may appear like they have it all together, they fall just like you and me. See past the fronts people put on, there may be more to them than you'll ever know.
