Hello and welcome to the epilogue of my Chrisker fic. It has been a long journey, and I am incredibly pleased to say that it is uploaded and finished in its entirety.
Thank you to all who have consistently liked and commented over the last two months! It's a pleasure to know that people have come back to read each chapter and have enjoyed it. I'll be writing plenty more of these two over the course of the month and sharing for Chrisker Week 2026, so if you enjoyed my take on Chris and Wesker, then please stay tuned for more fun!
Before it All Went Up in Flames Epilogue: Embers and Ashes (Chris x Wesker fanfic)
(Read it on Ao3) (Support me on ko-fi!)
Fic Summary: A series of events that may or may not have happened during Chris's time at S.T.A.R.S. before the mansion incident.
---
The dawn over the horizon was a welcome sight. The warm glow came in through the helicopter’s windows and cast a saving grace over the survivors. Brad, Barry, Rebecca, Jill, and Chris; they were the only remaining members of S.T.A.R.S. now. Wesker had made sure that the others would never see a dawn like this ever again, and neither would he.
Rebecca laid stretched out on one seat with Barry next to her head, polishing his magnum. Jill rested her own head on Chris’s shoulder and dozed off finally after the exhausting night they had endured. Chris couldn’t rest like the rest of them. Instead, he stared out at the new dawn and listened to Wesker’s voice repeat in his memories over and over again.
His little piggies… That’s what he thought of the precious team he had cultivated over the last two years. They were nothing but his prized pets that he had groomed for his own amusement. Was all that final training really to prepare them better for this mission of his own making, or was it just to make it more fun when Wesker threw them all to his precious monsters? Chris couldn’t wrap his head around it. He had been so blindsided, even when they entered that “abandoned” mansion. Despite what he said in the lab, Wesker had still helped him throughout the night. He had shot Rebecca and Enrico right in front of Chris’s eyes, and yet he made sure that Chris had supplies and kept him safe up until the very end. Was it all just so Chris could see his team be slaughtered by Wesker’s own hands, or maybe it was just so that Wesker could give his precious Tyrant the honor of killing his favorite star?
He had always been with Umbrella. He had always been a liar. Everything Chris knew, everything he experienced, there was never anything to it. He really was just Wesker’s dog who was too stupid to look past the perfect captain that Wesker played so well. The captain he trusted with everything; his body, his mind, his life… He put it all in Wesker’s hands and let Wesker use him as he saw fit. He played right into his game and had never thought twice about it.
