I’m desperate [tablet issues]
Okay, so I’ve literally posted about this just about everywhere I can think of, googled until I can no longer google, and I still can’t seem to find a straight answer. So, I figured why not post here, too. So, about 4-5 months ago the stylus for my tablet began lagging. An irritating, maddening, half-second delay. I thought I could look it over, but became painfully clear that it was an issue that couldn’t be ignored. I searched and searched and eventually found a workaround where you disable the “flicks” on the pen and touch tab on the computer’s control center. This worked and for the last few months things have been perfectly fine. However, it has started again. The problem this time is that the “flicks” tab no longer seems to exist (and from what I gather, it wasn’t an end-all-be-all solution, anyway.) I’ve adjusted all my pen and touch options, turned off my pen and touch options, disabled/enabled Windows Ink, and messed with almost every bit of tablet software that exists on my computer. My computer has been restarted, turned off, adjusted--nothing seems to work! So, rundown of my tools, for clarity:
Windows 10 - all updated as far as I can tell--last update came in August. But the issue just started about a week ago, so I’m not entirely sure if the update is the issue.
Wacom Intuos Pro - tablet driver also updated; even rolled back to the previous version to insure the recent update wasn’t the problem, by some chance.
And, if it matters, an Asus laptop.
Every single thread I find ends up with one of two things happening: either a Microsoft rep asking the same questions, seemingly ignoring the details of the actual issue, and offering “solutions” that don’t work. Or someone saying “turn off flicks”--which I (and apparently tons of others) physically cannot do. I’m ready to tear my hair out and am this close to breaking down crying. I have design specs for a job assessment that I need to get done and drawings that I was so excited to be working on. And I can’t with this problem! Does anyone know how to solve this? Between this and the infamous Spring “phantom desktop” update--which screwed not only with my desktop, but somehow also the wifi connection with my laptop to a point I had to actually take it in to a repair shop (Microsoft now owes me 100 bucks, as far as I’m concerned)--I’m about ready to call it quits with Microsoft. I’ve spent more time trying to fix issues and create workarounds than I’ve spent working on art. God forbid these people make sure their software works before forcing it on everyone. One thing I will mention is that this issue seems to crop up every time I change pen nibs. However, I feel that’s more correlation over causation. Then again, at this point, who even knows!!!!! Certainly not Microsoft or Wacom, I guess!!!! If you know a solution or know of anyone who might, please pass this along! I would be so, so grateful! Edit: HUGE thank you to blauwegiraf who suggested going to the tablet utility file and removing all user preferences--it worked!
Laptop help
So I have a roughly 9 month old Lenovo Ideapad 110S. While I was writing last night, I typed an “n” and it came out as “mn.” Typing an “m” will give the same thing. “V” and “b” do the same, and the space bar and enter key also do the same. The keyboard drivers are up to date, laptop has not sustained any damage, I tried holding the keys for several seconds, rebooting, uninstalling and reinstalling, checking the on screen keyboard, and finally languages. All are normal and nothing fixes it. I was writing for probably 30 minutes previously with no issues when it happened. It affects all programs, not just Word.
Ideas? I’m going to try an air canister to clean it, take it apart to check motherboard, and finally system restore if nothing else works.

RTF Files randomly corrupting?
Anybody had experience with wordpad files seemingly just corrupting at random?
I've now found 2 wordpad files that at some point turned into garbled nonsense. It shows the same on both my laptops.
I backup my documents once a month so I should be able to recover a previous version of this one, but this shit's got me paranoid that all of my documents are eventually going to just turn to trash. :( I'm getting afraid to touch any of my documents.
