just saw Karate Kid Legends and a few thoughts (ft. directly stealing from my letterboxd) minor spoilers!!!!

I think Li is the first Karate Kid to KEEP the friend he made in the beginning (the boy Daniel played soccer w totally disappears as does Dre’s basketball friend, the lil white kid from his apartment, and Julie from my recollection HAD no friends to begin with). I grew up on Jackie Chan’s Karate Kid and then immediately fell in love with the OG after my Outsiders phase so this movie was made for ME and me specifically :)
