I was thinking if I should post this on my NSFW blog, but this isn't that explicit so maybe it's fine??? Also it's my first time writing something like this please don't judge me 😭

His eyes fluttered open at the sound of his phone beeping, signaling to him that another busy day is waiting for him.

The rain pitter-pattered on his window pane, the cold air it brought along making the warmth beside him even more pronounced.

The sight of you sleeping soundly next to him made him smile, his chest filled with warmth.

Oh how lucky was he for you to choose him out of all the people you could have chosen in this island?

He will never know.

But as much as he wanted to stay with you a little longer, his responsibilities need him, and time waits for no man.

Carefully climbing out of bed, he pulled the covers over your sleeping form before quickly readying himself for the day.

"Mmm... Haru?"

A few minutes later, he heard you call out to him, voice still raspy with sleep.

"Sorry. Did I wake you?"

You shook you head. "No. Are you heading out now?"

"Yeah... Need to get an early start if I want to get everything finished by the end of the day."

"Guess I can't ask you to stay with me just a little longer then?" you ask as you stretched, wincing a little as you did.

He smiled apologetically.

"You should rest a little longer," he said, placing a kiss on your hair.

You tried to protest by getting up, but you soon fell back on the bed.

"Maybe I'll take you up on that," you smile wryly.

"Sorry. I overdid it last night, didn't I?"

The memories of last night's passion flashed in his mind's eye.

It has been a while since the last time the two of you had been together. He could've controlled himself better, but when he felt your warmth around him, all of his restraint just snapped.

"You did," you mumbled, averting your eyes as you continued, "but it's okay. I liked it."

He froze.

This is bad. If you continue being adorable like that, he might just lose it, and that would affect his schedule for the day.

He took a deep breath to calm himself.

"I should get going. See you later around lunch?"

You smiled. "Okay. See you later."

Bidding you goodbye, he closed the door to his room, already looking forward to fulfilling your promise to each other.

It was a promo saying they're offering a 30% discount for select drink + food combos.

You were interested. But there's a problem: the discount is only applicable to couples.

Haru Sagara

Will absolutely agree. No ifs or buts.

He's on the lookout for tips on how to save money so for him, your suggestion was brilliant.

Especially since the food and drinks were all good.

Let him know if you need a partner for these things again and he'll come running.

Towa Otonashi

I don't think you'd even need to ask him to pretend to be your boyfriend, not when the two of you already look like one because of how sweet he is to you.

Still, try to ask him or else he'll get confused when you suddenly refer to him as your partner.

It's a shame he can't eat the foods on the couple's menu though. Buy him a salad to make it up to him.

He probably won't mind that this was just a pretend when he sees how happy you are.

Ren Shiranami

"Heh. They're probably not getting a lot of customers for them to offer discounts even though it's not Valentine's Day... Huh? You want me to pretend to be your boyfriend?!"

Gapes at you. Are being serious right now?

All this... just to get that discount?

Might take a bit of convincing before you get him to agree.

And even after he does, he will make sure to let you know he does not like it.

Or so he thought.

The food almost made him change his stance. Almost.

But then he saw how much you're enjoying yourself.

Thinks it's inappropriate to enter in a relationship just to get a discount (he most definitely missed the point that this is supposed to be just pretend).

So yeah, he's saying no to this :(

Jiro Kirisaki

"Hm? Sure."

He agrees without any qualms.

He's not interested in the discount at all. But he is fascinated with how the customer psychology trick affected your decision-making process.

He can't eat without you helping him though, so even if it's a little embarrassing, you reach out a fork to him and feed him.

Well, at least you don't have to prove to other people you're a couple with this.

Shakes his head in fond exasperation as he lets you drag him towards the café.

Another one who does the role of your boyfriend convincingly well.

Not that he needed to try so hard in the first place. The guy's already sweet towards you on a regular basis, it just increased tenfold during your ruse.

Watches you with a soft smile as you eat the food with a delighted look.

Mio Susuhara

Was a little taken aback when he heard your request.

Are you sure you want him to be your boyfriend? (He knows it's just pretend, he's just asking to be sure).

Acting isn't exactly in his wheelhouse so he's not sure if he could play the role well enough to convince other people.

Is a little awkward at first, but slowly gets into the role later on.

Thinks of the food and your smile as his reward for a job well done.

Elias Pratt

Is very amused upon hearing your plan. Goes along with it thinking it would be fun.

We have another very good actor in our midst.

He's very gentlemanly towards you (not that he isn't already). You know those sickeningly sweet gestures you see on movies? He's doing all that. What can he say? He's a showman at heart.

He's enjoying his order and the view of your pleased expression as you eat yours.

Shion Genkai

You don't need to ask this man to pretend. He's already calling you his wife, what more do you need?

This might go either way: he causes chaos inside the café and both of you gets thrown out.

Or he'll behave just in time for your orders to come out.

He will say the food is awful though (even though it's not). You just hope the staff doesn't overheard what he just said.

Whatever the outcome is, one thing is clear: picking him will be chaotic.

Another one who will laugh at your reason before agreeing.

But unlike Leo, there'd be no caveat.

A/N: This was based on a silly memory I had in high school.

A female friend of mine and I were walking towards the tricycle terminal after school when a staff of a newly-opened samgyupsal restaurant handed us a flyer + coupon for a discount. The only problem is that it's only applicable to couples (it was around Valentine's Day).

My friend and I joked that we should fake being a couple just so we could get the discount. We were both straight, so we had a laugh out of it.

I just thought it'd be interesting to apply the same thing to the ghouls :)

Is a bit embarrassed hearing you refer to him as your significant other in front of the barista and cashier.

Pleasantly surprised with how good the food is. The café definitely got themselves a new return customer.

"C'mon, Princess. Why stop at just pretend if we could make it real instead?"

Teases the hell out of you, you begin to question whether or not you asked the right person.

Plays the doting boyfriend really well you can actually feel yourself blush.

For him, the real payoff for this pretend couple business was your smiling face. The good food's just a bonus.

His offer still stands if you're curious, you know?

For the sake of this headcanon prompt, let's all pretend he's still alive in this scenario :)

He's a little conflicted, to be honest. On one hand, he doesn't want to deceive the good people working at the café. But he also doesn't want to see you dejected.

You felt bad you had put him in that situation, so you tell him he doesn't have to say yes if he didn't want to.

It's a shame you didn't get the discount, but you'd definitely feel more guilty if you roped Zenji into something he didn't want to do.

Oh well, you'll ask someone else to be your pretend partner next time.
