no longer asking . you WILL recognise and respect metaphysical plurality
Explicitly include metagenic & non-psychological plurals in your plurality posts. I don't just mean a throwaway mention; I mean actively making sure you're not excluding us.
Stop talking over us.
Stop coming into our spaces and centering your experiences and feelings.
Stop grouping us with psychological endogenic plurals, endogenic disordered plurals, and other forms of psychological plurality.
Stop telling us about how a person you spoke to said all spiritual plurals are delusional.
Stop coming to us self-flagellating about how bad seeing hate against us makes you feel.
Recognize that there is more to plurality than "systems", "headspace", "pseudomemories", "introjects", etc.
Stop treating our experiences, lives, memories, etc. as less real or just roleplaying.
Stop implying we didn't/don't "actually" experience our lives. Stop implying we're not "actually" who or what we say we are.
Use the language we tell you represents us, not what you think represents us. Listen to us when we tell you that you're being exclusionary. If your posts are for all plurals, they should be for all plurals.
Soulbonding+ Community tag proposal
So. As someone who was part of the (pre-selfshipping) soulbonding community on tumblr since 2014 or so, I'm a little... ??? by the sudden wave of soulbonding tags use by selfshippers. I don't really care if selfshippers want to be soulbonders (and understand fully what that implies), but I do feel like the term has been muddled a bit, and I can't really find any true soulbonding community on here.
Tag proposal: #actuallyanaspect and/or #actuallysoulbond, because I have a soft spot for that once-popular style of community tags. Anaspect was chosen because it's a bit more broad, encompassing soulbonds, gateways, and other metaphysical plurals. I wouldn't say you have to be a soulbond/er to use these tags; all metaphysical plurals are welcome.
The tag is intended for:
Soulbonders and soulbonds of all kinds (permanent, daytrippers, telephone bonds, etc.) with a focus on metaphysical/spiritual 'bonds
Vesselites and similar experiences
Metaphysical, spiritual, and non-psychological plurality
Soulbonds in plural collectives without a host
Involuntary and voluntary soulbonds, walk-ins, afterlifers, etc.
This tag is not intended for:
Self-shippers, yumejin, etc. without any soulbonding element
"Twin flame" "soulmate" or other romantic partner tropes
My goal with this is to bring back a little of the soulbonding community that existed before. This way, community discussions are facilitated and everyone can share their experiences, advice, opinions, etc.
As a secondary goal, I also think it would be beneficial to have some kind of community space for metaphysical plurals of all kinds, since we are very commonly ignored or exlcuded from wider plural community discussions. I think we deserve to have a space to talk about our experiences without being spoken over because we're too "difficult to understand".
I'd like it if the spirit of soulbonding was re-centered on "having a mental connection with another person" instead of "I want to date this character irl so I'm going to soulbond them". I would like to bring the focus back on the experience and actual life of it rather than aesthetics and "showing off" common in selfship communities. I'm happy for you if you're in a relationship with your 'bond, but the community has felt extremely alienating as of late. Not all of us are in or want to be in a romantic relationship, and not all of us who are feel like we fit the selfshipper label.
ehe~₊˚ʚ ₊˚✧ ゚. Venti's advice on fronting for cosmagenic/plural systems
°🥂⋆.ೃ🍾
Hey everyone! Venti the bard cofronting here. I asked hime to let me gather my thoughts on this guide, so i hope it is helpful. Keep in mind that this is mainly for cosmagenic systems-though in my opinion it could be applicable to other types! Also, this is knowledge I learned in mondstat's books, so keep that in mind. Always remember to take breaks when needed!
notes: we are not claiming to have DID nor similar dissociative disorders. Please be respectful. If you dont like our content, please kindly block! Do not take screenshots without our permission, and please notify us what it's for. We do not want to partake in drama, especially reddit drama.

🍏core concepts
What “fronting” means
Fronting is when a system member is connected to the body and physical senses, controlling or sharing control of the body and interacting with the outside world.
A fronter is whoever currently has that control.
What “switching” means
Switching (or swapping) is when one headmate replaces another as the fronter.
Degrees of switching include:
Passive influence – thoughts or emotions from another headmate
Co-consciousness – multiple headmates aware simultaneously
Co-fronting – shared control
Full switching – one headmate fully becomes the fronter
Switching speed varies widely: some systems switch in seconds, others take hours or longer.
Definition of cosmagenic: A cosmagenic system is a plural system or, in some contexts, a plurality term where members (headmates) originate from other planes of existence, universes, or realities, often entering the current system via spiritual, metaphysical, or reality-shifting methods. These systems can be both endogenic or traumagenic in origin
The Three Requirements for Fronting-from venti's perspective
So from what I have seen myself and read from mondstat's libraries is that a successful fronting usually requires three things:
1. Identity strength
The headmate needs a stable sense of identity.
Signs a headmate is ready:
distinct voice/thought style
preferences
emotions separate from the host
2. Awareness (co-consciousness)
They need to be aware of the outer world.
3. Agency practice
They must practice controlling parts of the body.
Without these, switching tends to be very difficult.
🏹 Stages of Learning to Front
Most systems follow a progression.
Stage 1 — Passive Influence
You may notice:
intrusive thoughts (usually, it would be your headmates thoughts)
emotional shifts
preferences not matching the current fronter
This is usually the first sign of system interaction.
Stage 2 — Co-consciousness
Two or more headmates are aware simultaneously.
Typical experience:
internal conversation
commentary on actions
shared awareness
Stage 3 — Co-fronting
Multiple headmates share control of the body.
Example:
one speaks
another moves the hands
both perceive the world
This stage is often easier than full switching because it requires less “fronting energy.”
Stage 4 — Full switching
A headmate becomes the primary fronter.
The previous fronter may:
step back into the mindspace
remain aware but passive
sometimes temporarily disconnect from sensory input
Building Identity (Before Fronting)
Headmates front more easily if their identities are well developed.
Common exercises:
Identity journaling
Each headmate writes:
thoughts
opinions
daily logs
Distinct interests
Encourage separate:
hobbies
music
aesthetics
online spaces
Personal triggers
Examples:
clothing
food
music
specific activities
These can later become front triggers.
Communication Exercises
Internal dialogue
Ask headmates questions like:
What do you want to do today?
What music do you like?
How do you feel about ___?
Answering internally helps reinforce individuality.
Narration technique
Narrate actions in your headmate’s voice.
Example:
“I’m walking to the kitchen.”
Eventually the headmate may begin doing this naturally
Fronting Exercises
If you are like us, and struggling with letting your headmates front, here's some advice!-venti
Exercise 1 — Small-body control (recommended for beginners)
Instead of full switching, practice controlling small body parts.
Steps:
Relax the body.
Ask the headmate to move a finger.
Let go of conscious control.
Allow them to move it.
Progression:
finger → hand → arm → speech
This gradual approach is recommended in the books i read!
Example from my advice:
“Move one finger then expand from there.”
Exercise 2 — Driver seat visualization
Visualize the body as a vehicle.
Roles:
driver seat = current fronter
passenger seats = other headmates
Steps:
Current fronter imagines moving to the passenger seat.
Headmate sits in the driver seat.
They begin controlling the body.
Exercise 3 — Perspective shift
Switch the perspective of “I”.
Instead of:
“I imagine my headmate speaking.”
Think:
“I am the headmate speaking.”
Exercise 4 — Fronting path technique
A co-fronting method
Steps:
Identify where each headmate feels located in the mind.
Imagine a path connecting those points.
Visualize the headmate moving along the path toward the front.
Let them merge with the body.
This visualization is used to help headmates move toward front.
Front Triggers
Front triggers are stimuli that pull specific headmates forward.
Examples:
Sensory triggers
music
scents
food
textures
Activity triggers
drawing
gaming
writing
interacting with certain people
Triggers only work if the headmate has enough fronting energy.
Headspace and Inner Worlds
Many systems create a headspace or inner world.
This is a mental environment where headmates interact.
Possible uses:
communication
relaxation
switching rooms
visualization
manifestation
Etc
Some headspaces include a fronting room where members go before switching.
What Switching Feels Like
Reported sensations vary widely.
Mental sensations
identity blur
feeling pushed backward
someone else’s thoughts becoming dominant
Physical sensations
dizziness
headaches
brain fog
dissociation
Emotional changes
sudden mood shifts
different preferences
different gender identity feelings
People also report nausea or disorientation during switching practice.
Two Major Switching Styles
Possessive switching
Control changes but identity remains “you”.
You might feel:
body moving on its own
another headmate controlling actions
Non-possessive switching
Identity ownership changes.
You feel like you became the headmate.
People's explanations describe this as transferring the sense of “I”.
Common Difficulties
Host front-stuck
The host cannot leave front easily.
Solutions:
practice co-fronting
practice relaxation
reduce fear of losing control
Headmate "fading" connection
Headmates may have a weaker or "faded" connection when not focused on.
Solutions:
frequent communication
journaling
identity reinforcement
Switching fatigue
Symptoms:
headaches
exhaustion
dissociation
Rest usually helps.
Example Daily Practice Routine
Morning
check who is present
short internal conversation
Afternoon
10-minute switching practice
small-body control exercises
Evening
journaling from each headmate
headspace interaction
Consistency helps the brain learn switching patterns.
Thats all! Ehe~
I hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any questions, or if you'd like more guides! Ill be sure to help!-venti the bard
✩⸝⸝{🍙} não existe shiftar no físico
i do truly believe deep down that our plurality is at least somewhat tied to shifting. and syscovery past making most of our dr’s makes it hard to tell. which came first? me or my dr? i’ll never know.
-taiyō
just curious: any other soulbonds out there with no "soulbonder"? i just live my own life separately, and sometimes i pop in here. there's no "host" in this collective, no singular identity, nothing of the sort that could remotely fill the idea of a soulbonder; i just kind of showed up one day a long time ago and didn't stop showing up every now and then.
Cosmagenic : systems who have headmates who originated from other planes of existence, universes, timelines, realms, etc. This can be both traumagenic and endogenic in origin, as headmates could appear for various reasons (ex: stress, a call for help, wanting to shift realities, etc.)
