“Coulson! It's been a while, hasn't it?” Barton casually said, while Natasha simply nodded to him.

Phil was quite disappointed with such a tepid reaction to the news he was still alive: “You’re not surprised?” he asked.

Clint emitted a sarcastic noise, while Natasha looked at him like he had said something dumb.

“You already knew,” obviously, how naive of him to think that something like that could be hidden from the two best SHIELD spies.

“Ok, so no more explanations needed,” and he turned, but before he could walk away he found himself engulfed in a double, silent, hug.

(This is an AU in which the Avengers eventually find out that Coulson’s alive, this time it’s Clint and Natasha, the first was Tony.)

point is, if you want to watch many, many such great storylines led by brilliant characters played by amazing actors - canon or not, watch aos. it's highly underrated.
