Mad Hatter calls Scarecrow the March Hare. In fact, he has nicknames for every Rogue, but Jon is his best table mate and dare he say boyfriend. He gets no judgement for liking his tea parties as long as there's cake which is Jon's favorite. He even made a special hood Scarecrow can wear with ragged hare ears on it. Sometimes Scarecrow will wear it just to appease Jervis, but only when they aren't going anywhere outside of their hideouts. Both of them enjoy tea and will binge watch medical dramas and horror movies when bored.
Scarecrow only shows feelings around Mad Hatter when he feels secure enough assuming his darker thoughts are not in play. He also knits and sews which only Jervis is aware of. He's fixed both his outfit and Hatter's multiple times and has a soft spot for Cheshire, the tabby cat Jervis keeps around his home. Jervis will wear his signature attire less around Jon, even as much as taking his hat off in rare trust. Scarecrow can become vicious if pressed and Mad Hatter acts as the calmer, sensible half of their relationship though he is more whimsical and sweet, but don't let that fool you. He is still capable of doing great harm himself.
Between Halloween and Easter, both their respective favorite holidays, they use that time to play to their namesake and treat the other for a fun time either scaring people to death or driving people around the bend in rabbit insanity. When teamed up, Scarecrow becomes very fierce and terrifying, using his scythe and Fear Toxin to combine with Mad Hatter's hypnotic technology to create a twisted Wonderland of his design and torture victims into permanent madness. Their combined experiments are their form of a date.
There is something so important to me in Rangi always being so determined to be the best of herself, to not disapoint, because her duty, her "armor self" is who she was trained to be, its where she hold her pride over and she cannot fail, as if she does it she is nothing
But is in the iceberg where Kyoshi gasped at the vision of Rangi without her armor and her top knot that is the first time in the books we actually see Kyoshi looking at Rangi in a romantic way
There is just something so sweat in Kyoshi not even knowing from what clan Rangi is from, but noticing that she trace the flor with her finger when she's nervous
Or how she is so happy to discover Rangi's favorite snack, and momentarily froget all the anxiet about the party she's in and start to think in how to get them into Yokoya
How she overflows with love at Rangi exasperaed ranting at her about traveling with her mom, because is in these moments Kyoshi can see Rangi just being herself, and its when (in her own words) she fells falling in love again
May contain spoilers for the anime & 100yq manga but I’ll be as vanilla about it as possible. This is a long one so get comfy.
A few years ago, I used to be upset at the fact that Gruvia took so long to happen. But now that I’m older and I’ve hyper fixated on the couple long enough, I’ve learned to appreciate their relationship for what it is now and for what it was in the beginning. From the start I’ve always shipped Gruvia but I never expected them to be together in the first place, PLUS I only shipped them because I honestly just liked the idea of them being together. Liking the idea of a couple and the couple actually being good together is two different things and I knew that. My initial thought was “how funny would it be if they actually got together”. Kinda like a gag if you will. But overtime I started to REALLY appreciate their build up. There are plenty of couples out there in popular anime who’s relationships parallel to Gruvia, (the girl or guy is deeply in love and the other party pays them no mind). But what I really hate about relationships like that is when they get slapped together at the end just to please an audience. If Mashima did the same thing, I could honestly say I probably wouldn’t be shipping Juvia and Gray to this day, but luckily for me and other Gruvia fans he did not go that route. People say that fans forced Gruvia to be canon which is just not true since FROM THE BEGINNING of the series, Gray was told by the fortune teller that he would be tangled up with a water woman in the near future. Plus the simple fact that their characters were designed to match each others (water and ice), Juvia is also a semi-yandere (I only say semi because Juvia won’t actually do anything to hurt Gray or the others she cares about) and Gray is a Tsundere. In the beginning Gray was honestly just a dick to Juvia, but that was more for comedic effect which me being a hard core Gruvia fan at the time, sometimes I didn’t appreciate. But now a days I really do appreciate the comedy between the two characters because I’ve realized there is a good balance between their comedy and the seriousness of how they actually feel about each other. You could even call Gruvia a slow burn but in my eyes the pacing is perfect and very realistic.
Here are my thoughts on Gruvia from Gray’s perspective. Gray was pretty compassionate towards Juvia when they first met, even though they were enemies, Juvia of course gets love at first sight. As they get to know each other, Juvia’s love grows more and more intense and in Gray’s eyes it comes across as pushy. Though I personally saw her love for him being a “I see you need love, let me love you” type thing. He slowly (very slowly lmao) warms up to Juvia and they start going on jobs together and forming a close friendship, to the point where they would rather go on jobs together instead of with the rest of the team.
And then the plot starts to get a bit heavier and so does their relationship. Juvia and Gray have multiple occasions where they make protecting each other their main mission. But two particular scenes stood out to me in the last two anime arcs. Juvia sacrifices her relationship with Gray to do what was best for him, we all know the scene so I won’t go into details for the sake of time and spoilers. But in that moment that’s when I decided I didn’t ship them just because the idea was cute, I shipped them because they NEEDED each other. Juvia finally understood Gray and his history, while Gray not only understood his festering feelings for her BUT he got the closure he deserved of his family, all thanks to Juvia. Although there were subtle hints that Gray started to develop feelings way earlier on than this scene, THIS is when he knew for sure how he felt.
The last and finally scene that pretty much sealed the deal for them being my otp was when they both sacrifice themselves to save each other. **cries 😭** We got a full length scene of them damn near confessing how much they meant to each other. We all know what happens at the end of that scene, then Gray makes a promise to Juvia and that was to take her feelings more seriously. The thought of him loosing someone else he loved definitely shocked him into reality and broke that Tsundere spell that was casted on to him by the creators…well kinda. In the anime Gray eventually confesses his feelings in a round about way and I HATED IT! I just wanted him to lay it all out there on the table. But maturing is realizing that, that actually wasn’t the confession and that’s apparent in 100yq.
Although I would love for them to just be together already, I appreciate Mashima and Ueda taking their time with this couple and really putting emphasis on their shared character/relationship development. I also appreciate that we get this development through Gray’s perspective, it adds a bit more to them as a couple. In conclusion, I’m lonely and I want what they have. No but seriously I’m soaking up every bit we get from Gruvia! Since Gruvia days is coming up, I had planned on doing a relationship/couple analysis from Gray’s perspective but this honestly sums it up lol!
So yeah if you had to choose between Hunter or Marcus from Ginny & Georgia, who would you choose? Who do you think is best for Ginny? There are no right or wrong answers.
Why not both? (I'm just kidding!)
For real, though, I do strongly believe both guys have great qualities. While I prefer Marcus and Ginny and Marcus to Hunter, it doesn't mean I dislike Hunter.
Some examples as to why I say what I say, Marcus and Ginny's romantic and overall dynamic chemistry, run pretty deep, like electric, and genuine. If Ginny and Marcus are sitting silently, the silence isn't necessarily awkward or strange but rather comfortable silence, and they're able to read and convey a lot oftentimes in just a glance or a look we have seen that before. It's there to see. Everyone can see it. No words. Brilliant, sometimes things get overlooked or underlooked too and that's where we are now with them.
As a solo character, Marcus brings a lot to the table, both negative and positive. I wouldn't say the dynamic with Ginny is toxic or that he is toxic but rather he's spontaneous, and still romantic though he likes his privacy and to hide his true feelings and typically avoids situations where he has to be vulnerable, as a much better description than simply the vague umbrella term of toxic. He's pretty complex. He is multifaceted and hugely relatable for guys and girls at different times of their lives. He is pretty deep and mature beyond his years and is very empathetic. Overall much better written and a tad more interesting than perhaps his romantic rival.
In contrast, Hunter is a true romantic. He's quick to show it. He wears his emotions outwardly, but it comes off like he tries way too hard, and his openness can make him fall prey to manipulation or even heartbreak. While Hunter has so many great qualities as he's a patient respectful guy, he is also driven, musically inclined, goal-oriented, and highly intelligent he has some flaws. Nobody guy or girl is a perfect 10-full stop.
The general consensus is that mommies would love it if their daughter brought home a Hunter, but not so much a Marcus. Even Georgia wasn't so keen on Marcus or very much on board with the idea of her daughter with him.
Another thing to note is that we got an obvious espy of a Beverly Hills 90210 variety. We got a troubled brooder type ala Dylan McKay in Marcus and a Brandon Walsh boy scout, academic type in Hunter. It's funny that Marcus and Max Baker are the twins, but Hunter is much more Brandon-coded in comparison. Also, not friends.
Another sort of comparison would be how Ryan and Seth are. Except let's face it, Seth's much more humourous than Hunter, and Marcus is a strictly suburban rebel, he likely wouldn't last a day in Chino and it's doubtful he's been to jail/juvie unless it's marijuana-related. Also, I doubt Hunter or Marcus would be friends, they're not enemies, just not friends. They're pretty much civil, I suppose from what I can see.
In short, both have strengths and weaknesses. I ultimately think I'm team Marcus. I too can relate to depression and how to navigate life with it. Mental health no matter what poses a challenge in relationships across the board, be it platonic, family, romantic nature, personal, or otherwise. I think and predict that I highly doubt Marcus and Ginny will be apart much longer as they still have a lot of love for each other, despite whatever is going on at this time, there is still hope for a possible reunion. If anything if any relationship is worth a second glance, it's them.
Kaisoo handwriting couple analysis, aka The Match Made in Heaven Couple
Sorry for the cheesy title but I’ll explain later, I’m still a little mindblown.
As requested, I’m doing a compatibility analysis just like I did for Chanbaek, always graphologycal-wise. I strongly recommend you to read my separate analysis posts (Kyungsoo, Jongin) before continuing with this post, because you might miss some important points if you don’t know the details about their individual analyses.
But let’s begin.
First of all, let me say that before doing this analysis I wasn’t a firm believer in this couple, not even a proper shipper. There is no particular reason because of this, I just thought they were cute and I never looked things too in-depth because I guess I never really felt the need to. This is actually how things were before I started supporting Chanbaek... I just thought they were cute, then I started doing some researches and then BAM, hooked, because hints were everywhere and I just couldn’t say they weren’t real anymore. This is pretty much what is happening right now... I’m not a hardcore supporter yet, but at least graphologically-wise, Jongin and Kyungsoo are VERY compatible, even if on a totally different level than Chanyeol and Baekhyun. Let me argumentate a little more and I’ll explain why (brace yourself because this totally blew my mind).
As a preliminary note, I already emphasized in my posts that Jongin is far from being that sexy beast SM wants us to know, while Kyungsoo is very private and a little bit solitary. I defined Jongin as a very artistic man, with a strong push to express himself through arts (dance, draw), while Kyungsoo, even if driven by a big desire of communication, is very introverted and usually keeps his impulsivity at bay.
Let’s reinforce these statements by looking at their handwritten samples again:
Let’s compare them without focussing too much on the graphological fundamentals. At a first glance, Jongin’s writing looks sloppier, less controlled than Kyungsoo’s, and this might add to our theory: as I said in the title of his individual analysis, Jongin is “the artist”. He loves expressing himself, going with the flow, even if he shows some (slightly worrisome, at least in my own opinion - don’t bash me for this) signs of social awkwardness and a of a certain tendence to detach himself from others instead of seeking for company and so on. On the other hand, Kyungsoo is a lot more guarded, much more aware of all the eyes focusing on him, and his writing looks a little “masked” to me, as if he feels he needs to write using proper Hangul form and mantain a certain aestheticity.
BUT.
What really blew me away is their name written in capital letters at the beginning of their little message. Doesn’t look that important? Other members wrote their name as well? I know, I know. But believe me, it’s meaningful: NO other member wrote his name in Latin letters and in such a big caliber like that (someone else, like Joonmyeon, used Latin letters but with other purposes). You might say, so? What’s your point?
Look.
See what I mean? They are the only ones that used the same pattern: name in capital Latin letters, short message (and not a papyr like Chanyeol’s or others lmao). This is very interesting, and made me wonder if they wrote it physically on some board while they actually were together? Because if it’s like that, then it’s something that you could take as a very important piece of evidence about their mental connection. Writing in the same style (using the same fonts, a similar spacing, a similar sized message) is what established couples do. It’s a bit like when you live together: you slowly pick up the other’s habits, the other little quirks and manners, and you find yourself doing the same or interiorizing that move, doing it without really thinking. This is a sign of a very deep mental connection... and this actually happens a lot, if you think about it, both among animals and among humans. These “imitation” is made possible by a combination of motor neurons effect and autonomic nervous system.
This trait actually helped me to understand this couple’s dynamics a lot better than before. If Chanyeol and Baekhyun complete each other, mainly filling in each other’s weaknesses, Kyungsoo and Jongin are actually the opposite: they actually share a lot of traits, and they have a lot of similarities. I said similarities though... not that they or their personalities are the same. There are some differences as well.
We noticed that they both use a pretty big spacing between words, meaning shyness and some difficulties in managing social situations (even introvertion, especially in Jongin’s situation): they both show this trait. So they are both not exactly the proverbial social butterfly. Another thing: ambition. They are both ambitious and driven by a strong will to succeed (as we can gather from the ascending pattern of the lines). Also, look at the linkings: we have many occurrences in both samples, meaning that they do share a bit of impulsivity as well (even if Kyungsoo is more the “impulsive” type and Jongin the “sloppy/not careful/decides on a whim” type, in my opinion). Both writings show signs of high occurrences in lower level, meaning grounding to balance out the impulsivity: they are both very loyal and reliable people (and the perfect husbands, oh my God. Do you understand now what I meant when I said this analysis blew me away?).
So, until now we have: shared ambition/strive to success, shared shyness/introvertion, shared tendence towards impulsivity balanced out with a good level of grounding. Beautiful, isn’t it? Let’s not talk about the differences.
Spacing. Kyungsoo’s writing is aligned towards right, meaning a strong will to detach himself from everything that is his old self, while Jongin is more cautious. Let’s not forget that lost his father not too long before writing this message... I can see some signs of sufferance in his writing, and this just breaks my heart.
Forniveau. Jongin is more sensitive, more delicate in matter of feelings, while Kyungsoo looks more stern, more down-to-Earth (but not disaffected or cold... his feelings look more disciplined, as if he learnt to keep his fears or enthusiasms at bay). I think Jongin is the most easily hurt between them, while Kyungsoo is the one who can help him reason when he feels wronged.
Caliber. Kyungsoo writes in a bigger caliber, meaning he has some dominant traits in his personality (not saying that he’s the dominat one in the couple or that he’s manlier than Jongin, I actually hate this kind of things. It’s very heteronormative and totally not my style. I’m just saying that he can balance out well the frailer traits we saw in Jongin’s personality).
To conclude: at least graphologically-wise, Kaisoo look like a very strong and long-established couple with shares the same goals and look very in tune. They of course balance out some weaknesses of each other, but what strikes me in them is especially this “established couple”’s vibe they give off, and I think this is really interesting because I didn’t feel the same when I analysed Chanbaek’s handwriting.
What are your thoughts about this? I’d love to hear them~
They love each other dearly, just Jonathan won't admit it out loud because he likes to keep his mystique and plus, it's no one's business anyways. Anyone who pries will get a Fear Toxin injection straight to the throat. While Riddler can be a bit too outgoing for Scarecrow, he adores Riddler and will succumb to anything he wants to do in the end if he begs enough. His biggest weakness is Riddler's kisses. They can turn his day from bleak to sunny in seconds. He usually gets them when he does something Riddler likes or as a celebration. He always melts each time but he'll catch himself and give a cough to avoid embarrassment which doesn't work in the slightest.
Riddler is very protective of Scarecrow, will challenge anyone who may try to steal him for any reason whatsoever (even for work), and he constantly brags to people how great of a boyfriend Jon is. While he does come off slightly annoying because of the chatter in comparison to Scarecrow's quieter self, he does it just so Jon can hear how much he is loved. Scarecrow is the one who calms him when he gets too frantic and boisterous though he will listen to Riddler's rants with a hint of amusement. If you get them into specific conversations, they can both become quite the chatterboxes.
Scarecrow and Riddler both enjoy puzzle books and trivial readings, often designing schemes around both just for fun. When not on heists or other criminal activities, Jonathan is a secret romantic when he gets the chance and will treat Riddler to anything he wants while Riddler will reveal his gifts in, well, riddles to which Scarecrow always gets them right. Sometimes, he'll get the answers wrong just to prod Riddler into disappointment because it's very funny to him how he displays it. And there are rarer times Scarecrow will have Riddler on his lap and they are silent because they like to rest that way. It's one of the few times Scarecrow gets a decent amount of sleep.
Black Mask is very off his hinges when he gets angry but he can easily be calmed down by Victor. They are each other's anchor. Roman keeps Zsasz's more murderous personality at bay but Zsasz keeps Roman from assaulting more than just the walls when he's sent into an unnecessary fury. They both try to take anger management classes...though Zsasz's teacher has disappeared after the first three sessions and no one can prove what or why. They protect each other in various ways even from themselves. Zsasz won't let himself hurt Roman and will manhandle his own knife away from his other hand if dark thoughts persist. Even if Zsasz pisses Black Mask off, Roman won't ever strike him. He'll take his rage out on a henchman instead. Comforting each other after their episodes can be quite draining and difficult to stick with.
Black Mask pretends not to care but he does try to handle everything regarding Zsasz and is willing to blow plenty of money to get him proper care for his mental breakdowns. Some say he's wasting his time on his longest devoted partner. He believes otherwise. He is also the only person who knows what each tally on Zsasz's body was from, each victim and why it was made. His curse is having that great of a memory. But on the better side of things, he has gotten Zsasz into channeling his pent up need to stab into darts and axe throwing competitions. He goes along for support each time he competes. They aren't perfect but as long as they have each other, they manage with what they can.
Zsasz is more empathetic than Roman and has managed to get him into meditation three times a week. It's boring but practical. As long as Zsasz does it with him, nothing bad seems to happen. He is Roman's voice of reason. Otherwise, they both enjoy torture tactics and interrogation techniques during their company business. Together, they make a frighteningly good team and when unrestrained, their combined prowess makes even Batman scared for his life. Only way to stop them once both are in bloodlust mode is to separate them but they watch each other's backs very strictly so good luck with that.
Harley is a crazy, psychotic being. She is often very childish but lovable and quirky. She will slice, dice, and serve your brains with rice to her elegant darling Ivy. She does everything to make her smile and will take care of the messy business though she has plenty of anger issues. She tries to keep her composure for Ivy and adores her like a lovesick puppy. When they aren't bashing enemies to the ground, they can be found roller skating, feeding animals in the park, and helping other Rogues with their issues.
Ivy is the sedated one but can get spicy if needed. She tends to her gardens while Harley gets her supplies. She loves spending time with Harley no matter what it is albeit she hates having to deal with the Joker and anything that has to do with him. If it can be avoided, she would stay as far away from the Joker as possible. Harley knows this and will deal with most of Joker's shenanigans on her own. They are supportive of each other through thick and thin. When the going gets rough though, don't think they will back out of a fight. Dead bodies are plant food and hyena scrap.
Ivy loves how lively Harley can make a room while Harley feeds off Ivy's comfort and approval. They stay by each other's side if either one of them is sick, Harley will try to crack jokes to improve Ivy's mood, and Ivy cuddles Harley to death protectively while smothering her with caring kisses for the simplest of scrapes. They are almost always happy together and seldom have any arguments except if there's something incredibly stupid either of them had done. They are also the few Rogues who get along with almost everyone else.
