Sawanna Łężycka (Łężyce Savanna also known as Łężyckie Rocks, Skałki Łężyckie) is the informal name of the terrain laying south of the Rogowa Kopa mountain (790 m a.s.l.), in the south-western part of the Stołowe (Table) Mountains. The most characteristic feature of the area are the scattered sandstone blocks in allochthonous position. Their origin is still unclear. More than 40 boulders can be found here, from the smallest 2–3 m long to massive ones up to 10 m long and 5–6 m high. They owe their survival to the massiveness of the ‘Upper Sandstone’ and its much higher resistance compared to easily erodible mudstone.

In the past, the sandstones of Sawanna Łężycka were used for the local purposes as an easy accessible material. A few blocks still show signs of such activity and it's very likely some may have disappeared completely.

WWD20; episode 6: Death of a dynasty

The final episode was a bit of a mixed bag for many. The atmosphere is a bit... off, even sick, making the dinosaurs seem like being on their last legs. The Tyrannosaurus model especially has received plenty of criticism. But, the nearly apocalyptic atmosphere, magnificent scenery and epic story are what bring the episode home for me. And of course, the series ended with a bang. Seriously, as a kid, the extinction scene scared the crap out of me as a child.

For this one, the iconic confrontation the Tyrannosaurs parent and an intruding ankylosaurus, resulting in the parent’s fatal injury. The babies are cowering behind a tree, hoping for the best.

An article published in the journal “Cretaceous Research” reports the discovery of hundreds of teeth of Spinosaurus aegyptiacus in the ancient  Kem Kem river system, along the border between today’s Morocco and Algeria. A team of researchers collected about 1,200 fossil teeth in an ancient river bed in today’s Morocco, and analysis revealed that nearly half of them were of Spinosaurus aegyptiacus. Their conclusion is that it’s evidence that about 100 million years ago, in the Cretaceous period, this dinosaur was well adapted to aquatic life, a confirmation of the thesis supported by a growing number of paleontologists.
