Creative Connections – a simple fan site not yet ready
I'm working with HTML. And a little PHP and CSS. Just a little bit. And here are the first practical results. My small projects. About things I like. It could be a video game. Or a musician.
Such an interesting musician. His name is Creative Connection. This is music from the real 80s. Dance. The coolest. And cheerful. About a joyful life. And the musician's name is Lian Ross. In fact, the singer here is our beloved and famous singer Lian Ross.
I've long dreamed of mastering HTML. In a minimal form. I'll go through a series of lessons. Then I'll make a little website. About a toy. About an interesting musician. And about my friends – kind little animals. Just now, I came across a piece about a musician. I was accidentally listening to music online and how I started listening. In September, I listened to a lot. Very positive music! It's so great that Lian Ross is with us.
First, about the website. Then about Lian Ross. My website is currently at version 0.1. This is the starting point. I won't publish it, but I'll record it for history. Right now, it's only in Russian. It's under development. Starting with version 0.2, I'll publish it and it will be available to visit. Everything will be in Russian and English.
The website is simple. HTML is the most basic. And literally a drop of CSS styles and PHP. Header, footer. Menu. How does the PHP connection work? That's why all the pages are in PHP format. And I made it here, just like I'd imagined it. I conceived it back when I was taking HTML lessons from Gosha. ItProger is also a website. There are lots of great lessons on all aspects of computer science. Not just web.
It's time to practice, consolidate my knowledge, and make my dreams come true. This website is like a notebook in the background. And everything's so reddish. A slightly dark red. Like one of the album covers. The one that first got me hooked – Scratch my name. I immediately saw the website design like that. And I wanted to implement it.
On the left is the menu. It's simple for now. Hello! This is the main page. And the singles page. Only singles were released there. In the '80s. And about Lian Ross. How cool she is. Such a simple fan site! I'm a smart guy for being so smart and realizing my dream! And thanks to Lian Ross for her great dance music and ballads.
And now it's time to talk about her. About Lian Ross. A singer since the '80s. Cool and charismatic. Very attractive. With great songs. She always has great songs. And this is Creative Connection, one of her side projects, another pseudonym. I immediately really liked the song – Scratch my name.
The singer releases albums and music videos. She performs. You can find everything online. She has great CDs. The video for "My Symphony," for example. She's great. And very, very stylish, 80s-style. And a charismatic super singer. She sings beautiful ballads. And driving disco songs. A true musician. With her own style. And not a single bad song. That's what Lian Ross is like.
I like her video for "Te Amo." It's so bright. A beautiful and touching song. I really like the one I already mentioned—"Scratch my name." She has that song on her album. It's those very 80s moments I so long to hear. The most perfect singer of the 80s. That's Lian Ross. Just like the perfect VHS tape with great action on it. And when you're tired of the action on TV, switch to touching ballads.
It's great to live with a passion. Like music. And to be able to create, albeit simple, fan-made websites. And here's the first one—Lian Ross. Under the pseudonym Creative Connection. And the website is called Creative Connections. It's a little joke of mine.
Dima Link is making retro videogames, apps, a little of music, write stories, and some retro more.

text reads:
"One thing I learned from the pandemic is that apparently one of my love languages is "being willing to explore ridiculous new ways to connect despite obstacles" (image of Dr. Malcolm saying "Love, uh... finds a way").
"I'm forever grateful to everyone who came to kiss me through windows..."
"danced with me over zoom calls, costumed or naked..."
"and let me caress them with the creepy foam hand of my "huggin' stick"

For my final creative connection, I’m posting a picture of a purse I made at the beginning of this quarter. I had the LA punk band FIDLAR in mind when I decided to make myself a bag. They have a single called “cheap beer” and on the cover they drew a can of beer that I used for inspiration for my purse. I made this purse with the intention of taking it to a music festival that they were going to perform in called When We Were Young that featured throwback punk bands. Some of the materials I used to make my bag were black and white vinyl fabric, cotton fabric for lining, and a deconstructed plastic pocket folder to cut and fit between fabrics and give the purse some sort of structure. I enjoyed making this purse not only because I like the song or the band but because I made something that no one else has and it makes my value it even more. My purse may not be worth much but it does carry sentimental value. Whenever I get a compliment it feels 10 x’s better than if I get a compliment on something I bought. The experience I’ve had in making this purse, carrying it around and conversations about it, reflects on not just one of the readings of this class but on the ultimate message of all the articles. The message being that art has a role in everyone’s life in one way or another. Art is not just one thing; Art is drawing, sewing, painting, music, it’s getting someone through their day, it’s buying a school folder to make a purse, its creating jobs not only in artistic professions but in the industries that create materials for art making, it is knowing you can relate to other people, it is connecting and not connecting to other people, art is everything and everywhere.
This is where I'd like to be, but I know I'm still in the first steps. It feels like I have to make he leap just to make the leap, and that sounds as silly as it is frustrating. I'm too afraid of stumbling to make any real efforts, but I don't even know whether or not I'll stumble and fall. I just don't have the confidence anymore. I wonder where it went, but i don't chase after it because I'm afraid that I'm not good enough to have it anymore. As an educator, I want to be able to encourage students and other to make the leap, but how am I suppose for encourage them to do something I don't even have the courage to do myself? I don't want to sound like a hypocrite. #Lauren #CreativeConnection
I recently performed the "if you really knew me you would know" exercise that was spoken on during lecture and I found it to be a very eye-opening experience in opening up to peers as well as individually coming to terms with oneself about situations that may have transpired in the past and how they may affect the way an adolescent or adult processes and reacts to the world around them. While I had practiced the exercise with a group of close acquaintances and friends whom I have already confided in before and have grown to trust, I found that as the exercise progressed I felt that the space was becoming more and more open for all of us to feel comfortable sharing experiences and feelings that we may have felt conflicted about. However I do believe that for adolescents, the original written format of the exercise is the best way to get participants involved in coming to terms with how they feel about their lives and how they can relate to others without the swathes of silence present in an oral form of the exercise. I did have reservations about participating at first because I was afraid of other's reactions, but in having a discussion after the fact, I found that other participants had the same worries that I did. This isn't to say that it is a benefit to have worries about how others will respond to you baring your soul, but that a discussion about the exercise, it's methods, and participants afterthoughts on partaking in the exercise may help ease some tension and pose as a "Beyond" activity. #Lauren #CreativeConnection
