Got to visit my favorite little art gallery @flag_salmonbay this morning on my way back from Bastyr Biofeedback & drop off a few stickers I have left in my to-go pouch. Thursday, May 7th, 2020. Regular face masks are so last month’s quarantine! With Murder Hornets on the horizon and whatever else 2020 has in store for us, I am upgrading to my very own Plague Mask! Found this pattern online in Tumblr and decided to make it. Took me about five days to make working here and there. Very happy with it. Did different patch work, grommets, and pulled every trick out of my sewing background to make this work. Very proud of it. Not sure Walmart will let me in with this mask on, though. #plaguedoctor #plaguemask #quilting #creativeoutlet #quarantine #maskmaking #steppingmygameup #bringiton2020 #sewing #tumblrproject #day128 #day128of366 https://www.instagram.com/p/B_6kTv4gtWX/?igshid=14a6iliz80rs6

Coloring and Drawing to Cope with Anxiety 12.18.18
It is quite sad how much we lose from the time we are young to the time we are adults. The reality is that children are much more connected to Source than adults. Children often remember that connection and can see through the veil until society forces it out of them. Even many of the activities that are associated with children and being childish can be quite helpful for adults. A few of these activities are coloring and drawing.
Over the course of the past several years, I have found myself coloring, drawing and simply doodling quite often. I never considered myself an artistic person, however drawing ,doodling, and painting have all become creative outlets and stress relievers for me. All of these activities help me to clear my mind. I originally began to engage in these activities as a way to deal with my extremely high anxiety. These activities gave my mind something to focus on other than the anxiety I was experiencing at the time.
I found drawing and coloring extremely helpful when I went back to work after years of being unable to work due to extreme anxiety and agoraphobia. Both drawing and coloring proved significant stress relievers for me. Along with painting and drawing, these activities all kept me sane prior to my becoming very involved in spiritual and metaphysical activities. Without these activities, I probably would have had another breakdown of sorts.
Recently, I have noticed that I have gotten away from these activities as I have become more focused on spiritual growth. What I am beginning to realize is that I can continue to engage in these activities while progressing along my spiritual path. To be honest, I actually just finished drawing at the Starbucks where I am currently writing. I found myself becoming anxious, so I decided to draw on my tablet. This helped tremendously. I actually purchased both the phone and tablet that I have specifically because I can draw on each. Drawing and coloring during my breaks has greatly helped me cope with my anxiety.
You too may find these activities helpful. I have seen adult coloring books and apps become a big deal over the course of the past several years. Here are a few articles on the benefits of each for adults.

Just breathe a little lighter I tell myself As I lift my legs One after the other Just keep going. I will my feet to walk One more step One more block One more mile And then All of a sudden There I am. I wish I didn't spend So much time Traveling in my sleep It would be nice to Just dream a little dream With a side of romance I guess that's why I keep traveling. #poet #poetry #poeticawareness #poetsoninstagram #igpoets #igwriters #author #poetrycommunity #awareness #creativecommunity #indieauthor #indie #selfpublished #sleep #dream #expression #creativeoutlet #todream https://www.instagram.com/p/BnWHOzPhdki/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1p8uq8yiv0ge0
