Yesterday I thought of a theory and something that made me feel the Deja Vu effect.

So yesterday I was thinking that I've seen somewhere else a similar death like Escanor's. It was in the Korean series, He is Psychometric Well she didn't suicide there, she got killed because she was investigating but is still similar in other aspects, here they are.

Firstly, I am a big fan of He is Psychometric, literally my main is called @psychometric-kid but I forget to log in to it frequently. In that K-drama the actions were revolving around a guy named Lee Ahn, his parents died in a fire in 2005. 13 years later, he started investigating it with his girlfriend, the boy who saved him from the fire (calling him Kang) and one detective (the same girl that dies). Lee Ahn had the powers of psychometry. After 13 episodes of investigating, wounds, suffering, small bits of love moments and Lee Ahn's psychometric powers getting better and better, we saw the death of detective Eun.

She was stabbed by Kang's father, and the son was with her in the final moments. She told him, that he is not a monster and is a good person, which is a big lie since he turned out to be the criminal. But he had alexithymia (doesn't show emotions, unlike Merlin who would smile from time to time). In other words, he did things because he didn't feel how bad were the consequences. But his actions weren't a big master plan like Merlin's.

Now again on Nanatsu no Taizai, Escanor tells Merlin he will be on her side, whatever happens, he knows about the sin due to intuition from seeing her sadness. (Which means he had spent so much time with her just like Kang and Eun).

Kang doesn't entirely share fates with Merlin, he gets imprisoned for 13 years. On the other hand, Merlin finally shows her real side, a puppeteer, that played with everyone like dolls.

If that's so, why is she so sad? Escanor sees the sadness. In the manga, you can clearly see how her emotions change from sadness (when she says Escanor is late, she wished it was 3000 years ago, did she even love him or smth?) to frustration (that he knew about the sin she carries).

Moving to the theory.

Also, Merlin keeps her scar, so I guess she had some respect for Escanor, just like Kang when he put that necklace on the grave (inside a photo of Eun and him)

I believe Merlin has also good motives. Because when Arthur was revived he said he will use the power for good things only and Merlin was on his side. What if Arthur has the power to turn back time or revive people and actually resurrects Escanor?

Arthur wants to be a good king and make a great world, that no one has ever seen. So I guess Merlin knew that.

But this part of the manga ends with chapter 343, the next chapters are about the other deadly sins and their future.

I suppose it ends. Idk.
