Each morning I have enjoyed taking time to match a crystal and a flower together. Yesterday, while getting pictures with the bright yellow cactus flower, I came across these wild flowers that look like purple bells. I adore the color of these flower. They only come out in our garden for a short time every year. They are perfect for pairing with this rather fabulous Spinel in Marble from Vietnam. I am so excited! Last year someone left iris bulbs at my fire department and I took them home to my parents. They planted the bulbs and we have now have our first iris flower at Hands of Spirit! If we could go back in time, Drusy Chrysocolla is one mineral that we would have invested in every piece we came across. Even 25 years ago when Karen was starting Hands of Spirit, Drusy Chrysocolla was rare to find. As Luke likes to say, Stock and Rocks are great investments! A number of minerals have increased in value exponentially over the years due to many factors. The main being that they are mined out or not being produced. The Inspiration Mine in AZ was known for some of the best quality Gem Silica and Drusy Chrysocolla in the past. Though we see pieces here and there, they are few and far between. Some mines in Peru are also know for the Drusy Chrysocolla they have produced. In the last few years, one mine has been producing a few specimens. They have a more pastel coloration, and often nice stalactitic formations. The specimen here is a great example.
