Microsoft + Skype = Braindead marketing.
I'll be blunt, honest and angry here so look away if you have a weak heart...
Skype had always been functionning almost perfectly, offering people steady, quality services, regardless of if were paying for them or not. Everyone loved them for it, and they were striving.
They may have not had enough money to keep it running in the end, but I refuse to believe it was because of their marketing, things just happen and pile up and sometimes it's just not possible to keep up in this capitalist son of a bitch of a World...
But -then- YOU, Microsoft, come around and decide to screw it up for everyone by downgrading the services for free users (don't even dare deny it, seriously, nobody buys it anymore), rewiring every call and conversation so that governments can hear and read -every one of them- if they want to (again, just don't deny it, it's bad form) and clutter every free user call with not only banners but also -audio ads- some of which can not be stopped and have no volume sliders. Nevermind the fact some of them loop ten to fifteen times before deciding they drove us mad enough, entirely interrupting conversations.
You want my answer to this? Screw you and your stupid marketing techniques nobody agrees with. You started digging your own hole with the new Xbox, and you're only taking it deeper with Skype. The uproar is coming, I've seen people's contempt all over the place, I know it's not just me. Keep going and go bankrupt. This is not a threat or anything, just a fact. Because if you keep it up, people won't pay for your bullshit, they'll just find a better alternative, as they were ready to do for gaming. And as most of them will probably do regardless.
After all, you really don't seem to learn that much from your mistakes...
I can't help but wonder however, how people even come up with these things in the first place. That is disgustingly idiotic in this time and age. Why would any, marketer ever believe a single second, such agressivity is going to work on customers nowadays? It'll never cease to baffle me.
