Leather sheaths are beautiful. But you’re screwed if you’re out in the field with a carbon blade and the sheath gets wet. It’s going to take a long time to dry before you can put your knife away and not risk rusting your expensive blade. That’s why I have always preferred Kydex. If it gets wet, just shake the water out and you’re good to go.
