you matter. you are important.
yes, even if you are a fragment.
yes, even if you've only fronted once.
yes, even if you're unlikely to front again.
yes, even if you exist for only a day.
you are important! you matter!

What is a modular system?
Tl;dr heres the pluralpedia link https://pluralpedia.org/w/Modular
A modular system is a system whose fragments will come together to create flares (temporary alters) specific to any given situation.
So for example fragment 'social around family', 'cautious', and 'agab holder' might merge together temporarily for a an event where homophobic family is around to create a flare.
Flares may have a name, pronouns, and identity before the fragments seperate again, the flare disapearing.
This can cause a lot of amnesia if memories disapear with the flare, but could also cause minimal amnisia if the fragments get to keep the memories they were a part of.
Modular systems can often look like polyfragmented and/or median systems as well as cyclogenic, and many people will identify with those terms before they find modular.
we ourselves identified with all of those at previous points in our discovery.
It can cause a lot of identity confusion and a belief that the system has a high dormancy count to systems who may not realize/know they are modular.
circutien culture is scared of committing to do anything because what if i won’t stay for that long
Literally... every time someone asks us "What do you want to do when you're older?" or "Do you know what you want to study at university?" our heart fills with existential dread. There is a very real possibility that I might wake up one day absolutely hating what used to be my dream job.
And then we can't even explain why we're like this, because that would out us as a system. "explain this gap in your resume" oh yeah I quit my previous job — which was stable, paid us well, and had good benefits — because I just didn't like it any more. I am sure this makes me sound like a very committed and consistent worker 😃👍
Our system kind of just have to blame it on indecisiveness, which then frames it as "I'm like this because I'm a loser" and not "this is how my brain works".
Cyclogenic : a system that periodically collapses into fragments, which are then shuffled and reformed into a new system. This pattern can be experienced by the entire system, certain subsystems, or individual headmates.
If anyone's interested, we've started a culture-is blog!
@cyclogenic-culture-is
it's a culture-is blog. for cyclogenics. waow :0 /silly
We wanted to make more systems aware that regularly-cycling systems are (a) possible and (b) valid.
If you're interested, consider checking it out or sending in some asks! Reblogs are appreciated.
we experience very confusing periods of being fully multiple to almost singular to singular (pluralflux) and headmates reemerging from dormancy, being completely/mostly active to going back to dormancy then collapsing, shuffling, then reforming :/ whyy brain lemme keeo my headmates!!
We're pluralflux too!! Usually it goes from nearly singlet to mediple so we usually call ourselves mixed or median :D
But the whole collapsing thing is nowhere close to us sadly (we only have one fully dormant facet)... Hope you can find some sense of community in the cyclogenic and circutien tags (or if another cyclic system finds this post)!
Could you do cyclogenic and/or circutien please :3?

modular culture is not really having a "headcount" per se, just a range of how many headmates tend to exist at the same time
Our headcount is just Anyone Who Has Ever Existed Ever.
Looking back on it most of our alters were actually flares that dont exist anymore.
I dont think we have a range for how many exist at the same times, but we do have an average time that people typically exist for
