Going out to eat with your little for breakfast. You both get sat down across from each other. You brought their backpack and pull out a coloring book and colors for them to occupy themself with. Smiling across at them while they’re sticking out their tongue concentrating on what they’re coloring for you.
Ordering for the both of you when the waiter comes over. The first time they instinctively look over at your little but you quickly continue that it pulls their attention back to you “they’ll take a kids orange juice/hot chocolate/etc” before kindly asking for a bit of more time to decide on your breakfast.
Gently getting your littles attention to ask them what they’d like to eat. If they ask for something sugary you decide whether they can have it based on if they’ve been behaving or not, but even then you always let them get at least a small side of something sweet.
Calling your little “my youngin/my kiddo/the little one/etc” in front of “will be having” when the waiter comes back to get your food order. You gently coax your little into looking up so they can say thank you, making sure they remember their manners.
Once the drinks are there your little is close to finishing the page they started when you first sat down and they start to drink while coloring.
They’re either very careful with their drink and always but it down before picking back up where they left off or they’re drinking and coloring at the same time and getting their page a lil sticky with lol drops of their drink.
You’re always having to reach over the table to clean them up a little and make sure they aren’t making too much of a mess, offering to help with certain drinks or asking for bendy straws when you can.
You’ve already put their coloring book away with their finished product by the time food comes and you both enjoy while your little is kicking their feet under the table and watching as you help them cut up some of their food.
Your little waving good bye to the workers and keeping close to you once you both pay and leave
