How do I say this without sounding like I only watch Ducktales for Donald? I really hope we get some scenes with Donald and one of the kids and I don't mean where the A story focuses on Donald and the B story focuses on a kid in the same episode or when they're together in a group. It's just Donald doesn't get as many one on one moments with kids like Scrooge, Della, and I think Launchpad. Beakley seems to interact more with Webby but I think that's a bit of a step up from Donald's situation.

I mean, I know I’m adhd, and tend to hyperfixate on one single character and consume any and all content of them to an obsessive degree. but I think it’s pretty normal to have a favorite character and to be disappointed when you feel like they’re not being used right, even if you adore the show.

I always try to keep any disappoint I have with the general lack of Donald to a minimum, cause I do LOVE Ducktales, and I think they’ve done some amazing stuff. Any disappoint I have is purely personal, and I don’t want to ruin other’s fun.

That being said.... I do really wish they’d use Donald a bit more. Frank mentions often that he considers Donald the boys dad just like the rest of us, so I just wish we saw more of that in the actual show I guess. I’d wager that the reason Donald gets a back seat is because he (and his relationship with Huey Dewey and Louie) is already well established, as opposed to Della who they’re basically building from the floor up, so they’re choosing to give her a much bigger space at the moment in order to flesh out her character and better develop her relationships with everyone. I can respect that.

but like..... I’m also a sucker for adopted family. It’s been shown again and again that Donald loves his family more than ANYTHING and I, personally, would just like to see that reciprocated. Cause right now it feels a bit......... one sided. They didn’t even realize he wasn’t on the cruise

I’m still holding out hope for some good Donald moments in the future, and if not, I guess I’ll just have to buck up and draw the Donald content I wish to see 🤟😔

I still love the show either way!

On a less somber note, this is my 300th story on fanfiction! And my 130th on AO3! Huzzah, and so forth! Here's to learning how to write, one story at a time! This was named after the song, which I was listening to when this all collided into a singular story into my head.
