WE HAVE A COVER FOR DAGGERBOUND:
Release date is August 25, 2026 and I am PSYCHED!!!!
We’re finally getting a sequel to Swordheart! And one of the main characters is Learned Edmund, from the Clocktaur War!
Anticipated publishing date for Daggerbound is August 25 2026
New York Times bestselling author T. Kingfisher returns to the cozy fantasy world of Swordheart in this deliciously charming sequel.
Four hundred years ago, three warriors were trapped inside enchanted swords, cursed to be immortal servants of whoever wielded the blade. One of them is the Dervish, a restless, fiery soul who hates his captivity and hates his wielders even more, but has never found a way to escape the sword’s magic.
Then one day, a disillusioned scholar named Learned Edmund is tasked with delivering the sword to a distant city, and, in the greatest of peril, draws the blade. The Dervish finds himself bound to a sweet, brilliant, and above all kind young man. And while he may be able to protect Edmund from bandits, cultists, dragons, and strange inhuman diplomats, he may find it much harder to protect his own heart.
There's just something about her...

Got my grubby little hands on an ARC (advanced reader copy) of Daggerbound by T. Kingfisher, about a fourth of the way through, so far my basic thoughts are;
I love having a scholar as a main character, it means I get to learn more about the world and I love world building so much. Funny, as per usual. GNOLES. I love gnoles so much. Also a new unique creature that I never could’ve predicted but am very endeared to already has arrived.
Will update (spoiler free so it may be vague) as I progress.
Cover Reveal: Daggerbound by T. Kingfisher
The sequel to Swordheart has a cover! This follow-up seems to be an Achillean romantasy, and the cover is stunning!
New York Times bestselling author T. Kingfisher returns to the charming fantasy world of Swordheart in this delightful and unexpected new romantic adventure. Learned Edmund, a disillusioned scholar, is transporting yet another precious relic from one stuffy temple to a different stuffy temple. Another great adventure for the ages… But when Edmund is set upon by bandits, in desperation, he breaks the cardinal rule and grabs for the relic, an ancient sword. To his surprise, instead of unsheathing a rusty, ancient weapon, an alarmingly handsome man appears, wielding daggers of blue steel and cutting the thieves down. This man is the Dervish, an immortal warrior who’s been trapped for centuries in a sword of enchanted steel, and is angry as hell about it. He hates the curse that put him there, and he wants to hate Edmund, just as he has hated every wielder before him. But the damned scholar is just so sweet and clever and kind. And while the Dervish may be able to protect Edmund from bandits, cultists, dragons, and strange inhuman diplomats, he may find it much harder to protect his own heart.
Daggerbound will be released on August 25, 2026, and is available for pre-order!

@daggerbound — gold.
He would admit to being taken aback by the sudden blow even though a part of him suspected ( hoped even ) that one may come. Gold only just managed to catch himself before falling to the ground, and only with the assistance of his cane keeping him upright. And though he could already taste the blood, and knew she’d made a mark to last, he could not stop the smirk spreading across his face. At last she had finally shown her hand, given herself away by showing an emotion other than absolute indifference. While he had hoped it may have come another way, he would take what he could get. He finally had something on her to press her buttons the way she had been pressing his for months.
“Ah, so there is something you give a damn about. Or rather someone,” he replied with that infuriating smirk of his. “Wasn’t sure you had it in you, dearie.”
“Maybe,” Wynonna answered, tone sharper than she’d intended, fighting to arrange her features back into something that resembled calm. Her face settled into a hard look instead, eyes sharp and jaw tense, walls up and clearly visible. It was the best she could do.
For once, she regretted lashing out, and knowing he actually deserved to be struck only made her more angry. Wynonna saw the blood at the corner of his mouth and could draw no satisfaction from it; all she felt was dread at his knowing smirk. She’d given herself away now—so easily it seemed—and she couldn’t even explain to herself why the white hot rage had overwhelmed her. All she knew was that she didn’t like the way Remus’s name sounded in Gold’s mouth, and it had inspired in her an unusually fierce desire to protect.
Wynonna took a step, making a point of standing within his personal space. “Or maybe I’m faking it. Wouldn’t be the first time you failed to tell the difference.”
