The doodles are back Definitely more spoiler-y (especially the adult Septimus- go read PathFinder RIGHT NOW) then the last batch but it was fuuuun I hope all 12 people in the Septimus Heap fandom enjoys these cursed interpretations of everyone’s favorite characters. Lucy is my favorite :3

I remember reading the epilogue to Darke as a kid and being like ‘How dare that guy think Beetle’s too young to be chief heremetic scribe 😡😡 Beetle’s great and super qualified!!’ where as an adult I’m like ‘Beetle’s 15… no wonder’ (though that is adult in the castle! still.)

Jenna and Beetle's date <first date?> in Darke is so cute and funny. Sage knows her characters and knows how to put them in a Goddamn SITUATION. Wizard Sandwiches is also so evocative just like all her world building.

One of the things that makes me sad about people reading the Septimus Heap series is that they usually stop before the end of the series. Usually after Flyte or Queste and miss what is, in my opinion, the best book: which is Darke.

Beside the Underflow the stranded group heard shouts from the river and saw a light suddenly appear from the darkness. In the wildly swinging beam of light they saw Sarah being pulled from the water and then Simon’s head bobbing at the foot of the ladder. A curse traveled across the water, followed by a voice saying, “It’s your dingbat brother.” “Which one?” came the reply that they all recognized as belonging to Nicko. “What does he mean, which one?” muttered Septimus.

Septimus Heap Villains

Okay, so my latest reread has gotten me to thinking about how, unlike some other fantasy series, Septimus Heap doesn't really have an overarching villain.

Instead it has a new villain for each book, often multiple, it's got me to wondering who you folks' favourite is.
