Drawing a random mk character every day until i finish the series roster…. Day 33!!!!!

Darrius!!!

So here’s a fun one! Being one of the more forgettable characters from the 3D era, Darrius was initially introduced as a front member of those that oppose Orderrealm’s oppressive regime. Starting riots, and using his cunning manipulative skills to achieve his ultimate goal of liberating his realm.

To the citizens of Orderrealm sick of the tyranny, Darrius is a visionary, but to the regime Darrius is a terrorist hellbent on destroying tbeir world.

This puts Darrius in a really interesting almost morally gray position. He has tbe goal of liberation, but his tactics (especially the methods he used to get Dairou on his side) are quite vicious. And thats what i like abour him, he’s not a follower but a leader and one who’s willing to do whatever it takes for the mission and resistance to succeed.

Which is why his little charicterization in mk1 irritates me. With him becoming a follower of Havik, and not really having his own voice. Which i mean i get it, he’s just a kameo. But considering most of the kameo roster doesnt appear in story mode, Darrius’ inclusion just felt like an unnecessary inversion on the character that just makes him a million times less interesting.

Overall i had fun with this pin, lots of really fun color combos here!!! See yall tomorrow for day 34!

Did a redesign on Darrius to make him more stand out in the roster. With his main weapon of his gauntlets. I also would like him to be more present in the story.

I really like Havik's Deception design and was wondering if it was gonna come out in mk1. Note that his right arm has a spiky shoulder arm, that's because I envision that once he rips his arm off, he could just use it as a spike club. In this reimagine, I want him to be the main final boss!

Just like when I first finished posting the vine series, I think I'm gonna take a break from this. They're fun to make, but it's not the only content I want to put out ( * ॑꒳ ॑*)⸝ plus they take a surprisingly long time to make. Anyways, they may or may not be back. In the meantime, hope you enjoyed these and whatever comes next!
