SEIKO D409 (series)
Seiko D409 also known as the Sign Table.
It came out in 1984 along with other data storage watches like the UC01 that I blogged a while ago. The main difference as that this model didn't have the keyboard dock for data entry, instead having a noticeable 'sign table' at the bottom of the LCD.
This table contains all the entry digits and works like an old video game entry where you can scroll through the letters to select the next one.
The memos are then shown on a two lines dot matrix display, each line having 8 blocks of 5x6 (so covering 16 letters at a time). Each memo could have up to 112 digits, and there are 7 memo channels (with a marker in the top right showing which one is active). In one of the memo slots, the watch has a message for the owner which shows when you press the memo select button (top right).
The message explains what the watch can do and reads: "This is your memory watch. Let us memorize anything you like for example tel. no. card no. name and address". The watch also has alarm and stopwatch modes, and there is a small bulb-powered light.
"Chaos turns into time, your dereliction of duty will pass, the volume is no longer proportional, the steps are reduced, one step, two steps, three feet, away from everything, be careful, Elio, the train moves forward, the baby falls to the ground, the cancer is growing... "
So Elio is linked to Fuli the Remembrance?
Project: 5-24-4 aka Storm Prime
The location where she was created…
In a lab with wires hooked up on her to store information into her software and databanks
But she haven’t been active within years, until she’s finally awaken from a scientists and archaeologists. What happens to her now?
We shall see…
once again, i am thinking about autistic spock and how one of his fixations is music
like... think about it. it’s not mentioned much, but he brought his harp with him on the enterprise. he’s seen playing it when trying to calm himself as he’s going into pon farr, and not to project, but... the primary way i vent/experience emotion is thru both listening to music and ESPECIALLY playing the piano — ngl, spock probably uses music in the exact same way. oh, and then we also had the episode where he was the one that recognized the cryptic carvings as musical notation and then proceeded to translate it as well.
i think my favorite piece of evidence is the hippie episode, though: first of all, the fact that spock agrees to actually jam with the hippies AND absolute kills it with a blues loop is incredible (and i’m not going to get into how any sort of jazz derviative jamming is a form of communication, but...) and THEN. there’s the fact that it was used to divert the crew’s attention from the enterprise being taken over. i just find it so funny that usually spock is more perceptive with these kinds of things, but invite him to one (1) jam session and BAM he’s fooled
