not to be a complete loser who hates fun, but i listened to this wonderful podcast episode which absolutely savaged into superhero movies and their ideological flaws, laughed the whole way home, only to log in to tumblr and find a dash full of .gifs for them.... and I just live in hope that y’all will get some sense and realise these movies, DC or Marvel or whatever, 99% of the time they’re all trash (and reactionary as hell, usually, pro-war pro-america bs) but i know y’all wont...

i don’t mind, like i enjoy trash too (star wars, bioware products). i just don’t get it. it’s that sinking feeling, ya know? nobody else seems to dislike these movies for some weird reason.

I think the thing that scares me the most about Suicide Squad is I’m almost sure they’re going to romanticize Harely and Joker in the movie and that’s gonna lead to a resurgence in the fucking ship community. Like I’m so tired I just can’t fucking deal with abusive relationship shippers but I’m like 90% sure all that shit’s gonna wind up back on my dash again. Fair warning if you post anything romanticizing Harely and Joker I’m probably gonna unfollow you tbh.

No need to go needlessly hatin' on someone's cosplay there mate. While I agree poor Harley has gotten worked the hell over by DC (who's slowly working itself into the ground as it is), but you needn't take that out on a gal who tried to mix things up just a tad.

The hatred wasn’t directed at the individual in the shot, in this case actress Margot Robbie.  I’ve got no bones to pick with her.  The hatred is directed at DC and the direction they have taken both the New 52 and their cinematic universe. That image is taken from the set of the new Suicide Squad movie. 

The original post was an attempt to justify the direction of the movies by claiming it’s simply a combination of the source materials.  I’m saying none of that is the source material that made Harley Quinn a popular character.
