CONSISTS OF ↬ Being a dad doesn’t slow Wally West down, if anything, it gives him a whole new reason to run faster. He takes fatherhood as seriously as saving the world. ── .✦ more girl dad wally. | navi. | masterlist. | dc masterlist. |
── . GIRL DAD! WALLY WEST...
.ᐟ Your daughter once pointed at a plate of food you made and asked why it wasn’t ready faster if her dad was The Flash. Wally looked genuinely offended and immediately responded, “Peanut, your mom cooked this with love. That’s way more important than speed.” Then, two seconds later, he zipped to the store and came back with an ice cream sundae to “make up for the delay.”
.ᐟ Wally has this habit of zipping around the house at night to make sure doors are locked and the neighborhood is safe. One time, you found him asleep on the floor by her bed, still in the suit, hand resting near her little foot like he was keeping watch. When you tried to wake him, he just mumbled, “Keeping her safe… I got it…” and dozed back off.
.ᐟ Your daughter spilled grape juice all over the Flash suit once. Wally gasped dramatically, clutching at the red fabric like it was a mortal wound. “Peanut, do you realize what you’ve done? The world may never recover.” She giggled and said, “It’s purple now!” Wally wore it anyway for a mission that night, proudly calling himself “The Grape Flash" (which of course was what she called him before he left.)
.ᐟ The day she mentioned liking a boy in class, Wally completely short-circuited. “A what? A who? No. Absolutely not. You’re, what, twelve? No you're five.. but it doesn’t matter. No dating until you’re our age.” You had to step in before he spiraled into a “dad panic monologue.” (He would've said the same to a son too don't worry.)
.ᐟ Your daughter begged for sneakers like his, so Wally got her custom red shoes with little lightning bolts. She wore them everywhere, even to bed. When she ran across the yard in them, Wally pretended to stumble back in slow motion like she’d just broken the sound barrier.
.ᐟ You once left Wally and your daughter alone with a bag of candy. Ten minutes later, the entire house looked like a tornado had touched down. Your daughter had zipped through the living room so fast that couch cushions were on the ceiling fan, and Wally was doubled over laughing. “What? It’s genetic!” he said when you glared at him.
.ᐟ Getting her into the bath after a run is almost impossible. You’ll hear Wally calling out, “She’s heading east!” while he zooms after her, and she's just shrieking with laughter. Eventually, he scoops her up, still wriggling like a fish, and says, “Gotcha! You can’t outrun the master.”
.ᐟ When a thunderstorm knocked the power out, she zipped around with a flashlight while Wally fixed the fuse box. She was so proud to be his “sidekick.” Later, you put her back to bed and she told you she had a secret before leaning in to whisper "Dad told me I'm the fastest helper in the whole world.”
.ᐟ She was at that wobbly, hold-onto-the-coffee-table stage where you and Wally would both crouch a few feet away, coaxing her to let go and take those first real steps. “Come on, Peanut,” Wally said, arms stretched wide, "You got this, easy stuff. Walking’s just running but… slower.” She actually let go, tottered toward him for a few steps, and then, all at once, her little powers kicked in. Instead of falling forward, she zipped in a blur across the room, colliding into Wally’s chest with way more force than any baby should have.
.ᐟ You were halfway between awe and panic, heart in your throat as you rushed over. “Wally, she just went from Bambi legs to warp speed! What if she crashes into a wall next time?” He was already bouncing her on his hip, kissing the top of her head while she giggled like she knew exactly what she’d done. “Nah, she’s got perfect form. Born sprinter. Look at her smile, she loves it.”
.ᐟ For the next week, neither of you could put her down without her trying to blur-run across the living room. Wally thought it was the coolest thing ever. You thought baby-proofing was hard before? Try baby-proofing for speed force.
