Deceit Plotbunny up for Adoption...

Woke up with a Deceit Human-AU headcanon - prob won’t get around to writing it myself, so this plotbunny’s up for adoption - if you write it, please tag me? I’d love to read it!

Idea: Human-AU. Deceit runs a small underground-but-popular kid’s show on YouTube, teaching kids all about Lies:

The Different Kinds of Lies (White Lies, Lies of Omission, Broken Promises, The Lie of Fabrication, The Bold-Faced Lie, Lying in Exaggeration, Lies of Deception, Plagiarism, Compulsive Lying, etc...)

How to Lie Properly (eye contact, no fidgeting, keeping details vague and rememberable)

How to Detect Lies in Others (similar warning signs)

When to Lie (white lies, complimenting ppl’s outfits, protecting people from those out to hurt them, etc.)

When NOT to Lie (shifting blame, avoiding responsibility, covering for abuse, gaslighting)

The kids pass around his youtube videos like crack, and it helps make him unique that Deceit also has a bunch of non-traditionally-cuddly animals on his show, like snakes and lizards and other reptiles.

Of course, things go sideways when some overbearing parent finds out and suddenly ALL THE PTAS START SPREADING THE WORD ABOUT THIS EVIL YOUTUBER WHO IS TELLING THEIR KIDS TO LIE.

And then [insert whoever you like to pair Deceit with] helps Deceit weather the sudden infamy and flood of hatemail - Maybe [side] has a rival YouTube channel and offers his support? Or maybe he has kids and is on the PTA himself, and already greenlit Dee’s videos for his kids long ago, so when he hears about the attacks, he reaches out to Dee to help? 

Please, somebody, take this plotbunny and write if for me?

Imagine, what if... (bit o’angst, take two)

I think a lot of the fandom is agreed that Roman is going through an arc with his insecurity and whatnot, and it’s not over yet.

What if the show had taken a different turn? What if, instead of DwIT, we’d had an episode where Roman had tried to duck out, and that was how Remus had been introduced, suddenly in control of all of Thomas’s creativity? 

(I'm pretty sure that’s EXACTLY WHY he knocked out Roman, because him being unconscious was the only way for Remus to have the power to launch them all into Full Daydream Mode.)

What if Roman, feeling undervalued and overlooked and pitied by the other sides, had willingly given control over to Remus? What if Remus hinted that Roman was locked away in the tallest tower overgrown by thorny brambles - Thomas and the other sides fight their way through the thorns and defeat the dragon/kraken to rescue the prince, only to find out that Roman had asked for this, that he’d wanted to be locked away. That he’d begged for an enchanted spindle, for a poisoned apple, for a sleep to never wake from.

What if?

RemRom Wicked Au, anyone?

Roman: Popular. Good Witch. Bright and friendly and charming and lovable and charismatic. Led a sheltered and lovely life where he is the most special, pretty and popular person he knows, he initially has a tendency to get carried away with the fun, frivolous, privileged and shallow lifestyle he is able to live and doesn’t yet understand true goodness.

Remus: Green Outcast, presumably Evil. Doesn’t restrain himself to what other people think he should be. Says exactly whatever’s on his mind, and doesn’t have many friends as a result. Super intelligent, has a dry/odd/creepy sense of humor. Willing to let himself be painted the villain if he has to be, in order to do what he feels is necessary.

Maybe mix it with a little bit of “The Parent Trap”, where they were raised separately and didn’t know about each other until they ended up rooming together at Shiz?

(Daydreams about Remus and Roman singing “Loathing”...especially with Remus’s little “Boo!” at the end...)

Dungeon Tales #1: The Dragodon

Once upon a time...

Every now and again one of our players will DM a one shot. This time it was Cole, who plays Deter. The pansexual and very flamboyant Goliath Bard. The premise of this one shot was that Deter was getting married to a former rival bard in the Cult of Rakdos named Rama, a Loxodon (Humanoid elephant) and the party was invited.

Long story short, Deter ends up stabbing Rama in the face and killing him before disappearing in a puff of glittery smoke. With the help of an NPC named Caleb Shire of Calebshire, the party found themselves facing down a giant dragon that looked like Rama. Steven, Thane's player, was quick to point out that there is only one dragon in the world of Ravnica and this was not that dragon. After some debating, it was decided that this creature would be names the Dragodon.

While fighting the Dragodon, and hoping to get in a little extra damage, our fighter, Brynn, made an attack on the Dragodon's "crown jewels". The attack hit and extra damage was dealt. HOWEVER Cole later refered to the Dragodon as a "she" to which Steven pointed out that if the Dragodon was a girl, the extra damage wouldn't have counted. Fed up with the nitpicking Cole declares "It has balls!!! Okay??? THE DRAGODON IN THE BASEMENT IS TRANSGENDER!!!"

We had to take a break from laughing so hard. In the end, we found Deter and had our quote of the day. "THE DRAGODON IN THE BASEMENT IS TRANSGENDER!!!"
